I agree, I want it banned. But fore the time being think about it like this, you have a car you drive around with no seat cause its fucked up, you do it because you have to but its very uncomfortable. Or you can just install a new seat and be in style. Which would you do? Anyways, here they are if you want them. The parry is amazing, almost like never fucks up. The ray is meh... I have seen it cast out of order sometime, I guess its better than not casting at all with what the client one does. ;//////Rays////////////////////////////////////// ;////////////////////////////////////////////////// SetMouseDelay, 0 Process, Priority,, High ; Have the script set itself to high priority. I get it, but i don't think that's the right analogy. There's severaly type of keyboards. Customize them the way you want. Use any of them and try to win against me without AHK or without the keyboard's script function. When you start using script and i don't, it feels like you cheating to win against me. That's how i feel. The scripts you use are fair. That's not true for everyone and you know it. The best way to control that is to ban them. I'm a console gamer as much as a pc gamer. I can be allowed to use a multishine controller to win. That allowes me to lock on multiple directions with the left-stick and the c-stick to easily perform tilts on the right direction or to easily chose my direction when i up-B to come-back on stage. With the perfect angle, it allows me to duck multiple time as i run/walk so easily. The corners around those 2 sticks got more teeth than a original controller to lock-me down better on the corners. Any controllers can be purchased online. In most fighting games, a lot of players would rather use arcade controllers. Yet, the best player in fighting game uses the most basic console controller for any game he plays (sonic fox). So i'm saying, you can go and purchase any model of keyboards, but a scripts or turbo mechanism to perform fast cycling kicks with Chun-Li is obviously ''cheaitng''. Why should i allow you to get away with that when money is on the line? I've lost so many time because my characte wouln't parry with a shield when i wanted him to. And a lot more can be done with script. What you have is just to avoid some flaws: that's cool, but i've seen some nasty thing in videos that i can't find no more because i was pretty new in DF and didnt get enough to save them. Videos were exclusively for the forum members of a specific clan. And i would never give away secrets neither if i happened to be part of the team.
When you choose to play with a disability even though people have given you the tools to perform, its sounding like you want the crutch as an excuse in case you lose. I gave you the scripts. Use them until they fix it. They probably never will so you will always be at a disadvantage. Either use them or just accept it and don't use it as an excuse when you have access to the same thing. But I am with you after seeing pixel toggles - ban AHK I am all for it, but until they do, I will use it to fix their horrible auto parry and their rays that mess up from time to time.
This --- Post updated --- I feel ya man but what kinda new player comes to a game thats as old as this and wants to stick around after being told he needs to learn how to run scripts. The game is already overwhelming in its own right with spells and abilities now if a casual player comes in and gets thrown programs and scripts it seems it would be a HUGE turn off. I get the game has bugs. But some people playing with something like AHK vs someone thats not is very unfair. Its also very unfair to ask a player to download third party programs to help them close a gap that shouldnt be present in the first place.
I totally agree, that's why I am fine with the ban. Until they do though, why frustrate myself due to their GUI. It don't matter, I am done for good, lost all my houses for some reason in like 8 days. Bug? rollback after I paid taxes? Nobody responds to me through discord anymore, thought Andrew was helping but getting nothing, so.... That was the thing that kept me logging in, they are gone now and I don't miss it.
All i'm saying is that the "best of the best" who have played the variations of darkfall have moved on to play pro in multiple games, even some people who are "ok" in darkfall are or were "toppppp tier" in other games. It's always been a cesspool of talented gamers, some of those are willing to go extra because they can't handle not being the best, but I bet it's a very tiny amount (if any) people who play RoA that used a pixel lock (other than franchises crazy ass). I 100% support AHK ban once they fix what AHK does that RoA does not.
Meh it needs to be banned now its definitely not gonna help pop. The top players will still be top. Hell even a noob who has played this game is lightyears ahead of an actual new player. Thats my opinion atleast, its got good points on both sides maybe we should poll :3 --- Post updated --- That house news makes me a sad panda. Also alts in this game make me sad. Lets say we had an influx of 5k players ( XD ) still only like 30 people are gonna hold house slots. Getting rich in this game is far too easy when you can just exploit alts. One account per IP or something to fix that issue. No offense to my clan but its kind of a let down when I play the game and ya know its just me, good ol Yomi in a Q5 infernal destro bag in a full party at a vcp but with actually 3 other human players and their 11 alts.
if i bring 5 characters to a village in full infernal sure i get 5x the rewards while risking 5x the gear i really dont see the problem
1) Run + Sprint bind together on right mouse button, or space bar. I haven't play in a while, so I'm not sure if this ever got fixed, but it has annoyed me since 2009. 2) As one of the other posters stated, faster weapon draw speed to reduce the impact of ping discrepancies. Playing on the old EU server showed me just how big of an impact this really has. 2A) Side note- Having to switch to a staff to cast spells was always a dumber than dog shit idea from AV. There are better ways to facilitate spell casting without forcing a rigid requirement on players to do pointless weapon-staff-weapon-staff juggling that just asks for problems with the interface, and ping related issues, like the old frusterating paper doll lock issue. But fixing this inherent design flaw would require more work, and planning than a simple interface improvement, as you asked for in this thread. I just wanted to put that out there for future considerations. (See UO "spell channeling" weapons for one idea on how to implement a fix for this). 3) I want to be able to move sideways while I chop trees, and beat on rocks while gathering. I want to be able to change my field of vision while swinging gathering tools.
You don't see a problem with one clan being able to hold 90 percent of the player base housing if they chose to do so? --- Post updated --- I hate to be the first person to disagree but as a veteran pvper, weapon swapping is very much part of the appeal to combat in this game.
Ping gives you an advantage in melee for sure. But at range you can use it to your advantage. A good player with low ping and a good player with high ping are on an even playing field. They won't have the same play style obviously. If I'm fighting arrow he can go with me in melee ez pz. If I'm fighting juicy he'll avoid melee like the plague against me. You can adapt to your ping and still be competitive. You shouldn't have to adapt to script kiddies though.
Ping comes into play during every weapon switch. A typical duel between equally matched, and geared opponents involves engagement, and disengagement for weapon switches, and heals. Over the course of a long duel, a player with a significant ping advantage will be able to cast at least one or more extra heals over their opponent due to those few extra tenths of a second adding up during every switch. Regardless, if a player likes their staff switching, they can keep their staff switching. My proposal for allowing an option for players to not have to use a staff (staff casting optional) would logically entail some kinds of penalties. For example, it could be as simple as enchanting a weapon to allow the ability to cast without a staff. The penalties for doing so would include one of the weapon enchant slots being used for that specific enchant, thus limiting the number of available DPS enchants on the weapon. Other penalties could apply also. But I don't want to side track the thread with theory crafting ideas regarding specific details for a new feature.
Agree on weapon swapping..it’s a allure in my opinion..makes for some fun game play. Ban ahk..pixel anything should not be allowed period. It’s been a turn off to the game for years for people that have seen it first hand and it does exist..if it does not ship with the game it should not be allowed.
paperdoll removal makes ping/weapon swaps neglible. The idea that its the sole reason for a loss is only circumstance in the rarest of fights.
