Can BPG confirm/deny alfar reach nerf will be implemented? If it is then human male for me.
It has to be that way or Alfaro would be op
The reach stuff are fine as it is.
I was an alfar destroyer before AV nerfed alfars and i was a beast but i quit before the reach nerf. Thats why i ask. Guess its human/ork/mahirim tho most likely human will be my choice
People picking races only because of the advantages....
There was no "destroyer" until way after alfar reach got changed
wow, why would anyone do that in a competitive game, makes me sick to my stomach
It's easy to understand why would 'try hards' go for advantages in any cases.
If a dwarf would have 2 meter melee range,but his ballz would bang on your screen widely,you would still pick him?

Yeah the reach change went in in like May/June 2009 and destroyer/mage killer was in....conquer the seas? So like Nov/Dec 2009?

wait, what? the alfar reach was explicitly gimped? this was before my time, so why?
was their rationale that alfars' height required a smaller reach?
if so, why weren't the reaches of all the races modified by order of height? not saying that's what should've been done in the first place -- all the races should have the same melee reach -- but what prompted it? was it requested by the community, or was it one of AV's randomly decided, impromptu and half-assed changes?
Then i must have not noticed the change. In that case back to alfar! Lol maybe not. Human still better at melee

My guess is alfars had "too small" hit boxes according to bads on the forums bitching so AV put a melee reach nerf so alfars can be more "mage like"
I do feel like reach should be related to hitbox size - there were plenty of alfars who were still great at melee.
I think aflar reach is not that large of a deal but if your role 200 ping than maybe not a good idea to go alfar
Honestly guys....Melee reach? Come on now the ONLY thing the race melee reach changed was how close you had to be to sticky back someone effectively. Most melee fights are fought in the figure 8 and reach does not change that much.
Hell the hit box of races would have more impact then the melee reach while fighting in melee. Honestly during my time I had the hardest time fighting Alfars because of their height and their ability to seemingly disappear behind rocks/trees.
The Alfar reach is short enough to miss a stickyback.

I don't think they plan on changing reaches it's what makes the game unique. Where do you draw the line change alfar reach, then what normalize all of the weapons because they're different? Then what change all of the models because some are shorter?
Female human was a similar size to alfar but had normal reach.
Exactly my point Erock, sure melee reach changes how easy it is to sticky back but it isn't enough to make Alfars a useless race. Hell most Alfar players were extremely good.
Good idea, lets make all the races human size with human reach but with different head/face shapes!
Alfar reach is short last I could recall based On Other races. We tested it.

also orks and wolfs long reach became short because they had to look down on small races . But if they fought each other or looked up the reach was long.
