I was dueling a lot today, and I think I only had the parry issue happen once, and I parry a lot, I just slowed down my parry slightly like a mental check telling myself to wait like .25 seconds or I’m gonna get the bug ect helped a lot. Seemed to fix the issue I think it’s more that u are clicking it to soon ect
Clicking too soon SHOULDNT be a problem. There should be certain timers in which the game recognizes that you are trying to parry. Once it recognizes that it should get in to parry anyway whitout having to reclick/respess hotkey.
Its funny because the same people wanting paperdoll lock back are the same people not wanting ahk gone. Its almost as if paperdoll lock had a purpose and their arguments are both counter intuitive and ironic. The ability to instantly parry things now might be the most brainded and dumbed down part of combat at this point.
You are saying ahk can easely compensate for paperdoll lock so therefore the pro ahk people dont want to ban it afraid to lose their unfair edge?
Obviously ahk can be used to side step some broken game mechanics that honestly should have been fixed before leaving beta. Thats not the reason we want AHK banned. AHK CAN be used to, in blatent terms, cheat. Thats why it should not be allowed to be used in conjunction with the game. Anybody can tell you theyre only using it to fix things like parry. Lets be real though, the promise of a player not using it for undesirable reasons is not acceptable, especially in a community such as ours where people will use any advantage they can possibly get. There should be NO arguement for if it should be banned. Its been proven to be able to cheat with. Hence it should be a bannable offense. Anyone claiming otherwise is more than likely using it for a competitive edge over honest players not using it.
@MikerotchBAGFACE There are plenty of sides to the argument. The game is MUCH faster without paperdoll lock and the new UI options(I didn't use scripts in DFO, so RoA was my first introduction to what life may have been like with a ray script). I'd say being able to parry a lot actually pairs well with the new skill floor. It increases survivability for a lot of people and caters to higher team play. I watch so many people just blindly shoot rays, r90s, arrows, etc into someone parrying and never once consider pre-disabling them. I'm just waiting for people to finally adapt to the combat and pull their heads out of their ass, I suppose.
The moment you ban ahk, cheaters will start to use other programs that offer similar functionality. In the end, if they need such limited functionality like ability to read pixel color from the screen some of them can even write and share such programs themselves. Banning AHK is not the answer. Removing skills/spells with instant travel time is. We do not need rays really. Bolts would be enough. They can even add effects like pungent mist, etc as effect of getting hit with a special bolt. It wouldn't take away anything from the game. Just made it skill based and not aim bot based.
No shit sherlock. AHK is the first step. Ive already stated anti cheat needs to be better. Its so easy to manipulate a nine year old can.....maybe is.....doing it.
14 pages and counting, and still no evidence of anyone using AHK to cheat at the game. Good use of time dummies.
I did a simple google search and found pretty good evidence - just ban the shit and get it over with Pmd Neilk with it FYI - wonder who is going to become shit with no AHK?
Good players will still be good. But up and coming noobies will find that the gap is closing at a much better rate due to the field being more level. Obee dont worry, no one is accusing you of cheating because your level of play isnt competitive enough to really inbalance any outcome.
lol Yomi and Red King. You guys keep talking like AHK removal will change anything despite agreeing with me that AHK users will simply move to the next thing with same functionality. Wishful thinking guys.
