    Hey people,

Im trying to figure out how bunnyhoping with battlespikes work. I watched Gotcha video and another one. It seems so easy but it's just not working for me. I barely get off the ground and don't get enough momentum for a bunnyhop because of it.

I have no problem with shrapnel, begone or stormblast. All works fine but the battlespikes ain't working for me while im doing exactly what's been shown in the video's. Anyone got any idea's or tips?

Upload a quick clip of you trying to bspike hop and it’d be a lot easier to help out and see what you’re doing wrong

As soon as your hand disappears off the side of your screen, you hit space.

Thanks. I haven't been online yet to try this out. If I still struggle with it I'll upload a vid but I'm hoping it won't be needed.

You should upload the video either way! Maybe pour some milk on your feet in the outro?

Just make sure your not auto running or pressing W after you get off the ground.

    ... why?

Directional movement keys still effect velocity when mid-air. If you don't keep W pressed, your forward momentum drops much faster. Just release W before you hit the ground so that the movement modifier doesn't apply "stickyness".

Still, keeping W pressed for the entirety of a hop ensures you're going as fast as terrain / your spike timing allows, but you need to be a lot more precise with your hop timings.

The same idea applies for switching between forward / backward hops - alternate between W and S, release briefly as you hit the ground, and press again once you're back in flight.

Another neat trick relating to this: If you use the opposite directional key held mid-air, then you can slow your velocity enough to avoid damage completely, at the cost of a much slower (but still faster than running) hop. Only useful as a utility for moving from point A to B without a mount, because you'd never outrun anyone with this, but still neat.
