Why was this even taken away, theyre fucking useless now.
they dont even have a significant enough reach to be worth using, they're actually more useless than a 1h club
maybe .15 swing speed would help. Not as fast as old polearms but faster than current poles
Took along time to get it removed. If you used it more then just whirlwind you would understand.
Finally closing the gap as a destro only to have your opponent jump as you swing and now there half way across the map. Ya please bring this back.
I am torn. From one side, polearms with knockback were great for more magic/archery oriented players, they had a tool to push enemies away from melee. On the other hand, you couldn't stickyback with them, since you would knock your enemies away in a few hits.
I think knockback should come back, no one uses polearms at all now. We need less dead weapons.
stickybacking is already too easy.
First alot of people use them, I being one. So bringing back the knock back so people can use it once in awhile at the cost of othero who use it full time giving it up would be the out come.
Why in the fuck are you main handing them in the first place lmfao, its literally a gimp, it's outclassed by all other 2handers...
I think what would make Polearms more frequently used would be;
Polearms gain increased attack speed to match Greataxe attack speed.
Polearms gain a small increase in reach/arc.
Polearm damage per hit lowered to Knife damage per hit.
All three above things would also apply to Polearm abilities.
Bonus: Polearm whirlwind attack altered to be a forward-facing cone attack with x2 the range and arc of a regular attack, this would stop making Polearms default for whirlwind macros just for the extended reach of Polearm whirlwind attacks. Problem: Requires new animation.
What you'd then get is the weakest hitting 2-handed melee weapon which will offer a niche role as being the easiest 2-handed weapon to use, especially for high-ping users.
I'm surprised nothing has been done to help it so far. Its clearly under preforming compared to all other 2h weapons. Limiting potential playstyle options by having it suck.
Use the pole arm actively. Love the reach and damage on it. Fine as is. Helps me finish people who are out of each.

They're not that bad at all. Damage has been equalized where they can hold dps pretty well with other 2 handers.
No one uses piercing rings.
used to it from back in the day when you would piercing debuff someone and it would work. well with archery.
Polearms should have pullback instead of knockback.
Yeah there are a few of us who love polearms It could use some buffs maybe sure, but remember when they tried buffing clubs? Ugh...
I hate clubs more than baby seals do

They literally have the lowest DPS out of every 2hander.

This is enough imo. Its reach/arc is already greater.
As someone who has used polearms more than almost anyone else in Darkfall/RoA history... NO TO KNOCKBACK!. Polearm knockback has been widely mislabeled as an advantage and in fact it is the main reason they were so bad historically, the knockback only works if you land a back hit, it does not help you kite people at all, it just helps them escape. I do think that polearms need a buff though, especially with back hit damage reduced it makes them weaker for destroyers especially and mages as well.
I don't know if your trolling or think arrow damage is still piercing. Just check my loot bag and I've never looted one of made one. Thought mos people run fire/lightning,arrow,slash.
IDK if you're trolling but if you dont run daggers you're prolly a noob.
Running daggers and people not using piercing rings are two different things dude.
