see some crazy stuff about asia. same kids arguing over the same corpse. just wanted to ask, since its a f2p game now, cant you just pop open another server reverted to beta and add a sub to it. id gladly pay a sub to play darkfall. i wouldnt play whatever this is for free. did anyone figure out the standalone that maybe lets other people connect to your server? it would be nice to play the ol girl again for a while....
Except DF1 didn't have full damage for all of the spalsh radius, for many years. In fact it was RoA that at the start reintorcuded unmitigated splash damage. And this is why RoA turned out so badly. The devs listened to players who simply didnt understand DF1 or its mechanics and let them advise on changes to said mechanics. It has been like watching a re-mastering of DF conducted by some newbies from DF1 who barely played the game. Doomed from beta...
I always felt this about Unholy Wars. It was like they listened to the players from DF1 that couldn't figure out how to build a character, grind the character, or play the game at top tier and they messed up everything that was good about DF1. I haven't played RoA so I can't comment on that, but I always find it funny that devs of an emulator or sequel don't get their advice from the players that dominated the game, instead they listen to the players that whined the most. Its like the saying goes "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" (or something like that)
Let's be honest... the devs of this game listened to the wrong people, for the 3rd time, yet again. It's hilarious. Instead of more things to fight over, we got combat changes. Instead of expanding original content, we got reworks. Instead of immersion, we got dyes. Don't take my word for it, ask the normies playing New World: Pink dyes lmfao...
Now is the time to start a new character. Grind before the influx of returning players. Lots of love - Adam
you guys remember the time i said leave the grind, protect the sheep, keep df original or the game will die? i do. bring back the old grindy afk crafter darkfall keep the ui changes add more content.
Lets face it, unless RoA had a big budget and or team it was always going to fail pretty much what ever they did it, it is just to much of a niche game and will likely always lose the lower skilled players, making it so the next tier of players become the lower skilled players and so on because people cant stand to constantly lose. Which makes other players leave because of lack of players. That said the devs of RoA certainly didn't help, they removed the grind for leveling your character and made it to easy to obtain gear which was one of the main reasons people were out in the world and removing one of the biggest driving factors of pvp, also decreasing value of loot making the full loot aspect of the game less fun. They also spent way to much time on combat, which was the best thing about the game that should have been left alone and they managed to make it worse and doesn't feel as smooth as it use to. DF1 was way to grindy at the start, but was in a good place near the end of it.
