Champion stages are now more of a time challenge then a skill challenge. The main champ's health regen is too much for 3 people to complete in the appointed time. Even with level 5 Undeath it still regenerates like a champ. If this is working as intended then I would like it to be known that weapons are still not a GUARANTEE for larger groups doing main land champs. This is a huge issue because more people are required and will not be guaranteed anything except personal loot, which is pennies. Weapons are an awesome roll and not getting one is a kick in the rng groin. We like a challenge but when bpg makes a system harder and does not properly acknowledge the underlying issues with champions we have to go to the forums. Champs need to be ANNOUNCED like dragons/ demons. Champ loots need a buff. NO MORE CRAP GEMS, nobody wants q6 stat bonuses. We want keens, encumbrance, mag, mana/stam eff, slayers, and protection gems. Champions are end game content and we need to make it better. Guarantee weapons again for main land champs, announce when champ is half, remove stat gems from loot tables please. This will make champs a hot spot for pvp/pve. -Brother Jar #1 PVER We are thirsty for loots. Please don't turn on the announcement system until loots are fixed. If we get an announcement and keep getting crap stat gems or no weapons I promise champ session will end.
Announcing to the server when someone is PvEing is quite possibly the WORST idea that any dev team has come up with. Promoting this kind of game play is what kills the game, not makes it thrive. Yes, we need PvP hotspots. No they should not be PvE related. Allow people to hunt PvErs as part of the game, but do NOT continue down this path of announcing to the server that someone is farming. It’s dumb.
Because it is a champ, hello?! Reducing activities to 2-3 people or 1 and an alt is not the way of MO games, pls keep more stuff for group farming. Push the rewards higher instead, so it's worth it for more than 4 ppl. No fucking announcements, ty, unless you don't want new people or clans to do them at all. That just feeds the gap between elite and new/bad groups.
Less announcements are better than more. I would rather have all global announcements removed. Not being able to kill a champ with just 3 sounds good as well.... this game needs more grp content and not less.
Announcements are great. Rise of Agon at its core is a PVP GAME!!!!! I agree pve needs to be important and I love the new changes, but look at yesterday at the demon where Blobwater brought like 12 people to kill our 4, had smooth not got bugged and had to relog mid fight and mike crashed, we would’ve killed them all. Was very fun, pvp happened because of pve, no message, no fun.
Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I disagree. My crew tried the Fire Dragon and got blobbed as well. Guess how many times we've even considered doing that again? That's right... Zero. And that's with a crew of 4-5 veteran players. Now imagine a group of 15 new guys getting excited about doing some end game PVE. Sure they know it's a tall order because it's the friggin Fire Dragon. But they think they've got the numbers, they've got the elbow grease, they can do this! Then they get the Fire Dragon to 25% and the server gets the warning. 10 blobwater come and just walk all over them. After being that close to being victorious against end game PVE, they not only get sent back to a bindstone naked, but they don't get to kill their boss either. And it's not of any fault of their own, or just happenstance. It's literally a developer that decided "Ya know what, I'm going to let the world know when some poor sap wants to do something in my game, because if you're not bank staring or complaining on the forums, YOU'RE WRONG!". Edit: The whole point of this story is to say, how many of those new players are going to get disheartened by such a terrible mechanic that they just say screw it and log out never to be seen again? I'm sorry but this is awful game design that was made entirely because they have sub 100 players in the game. It's not acceptable for a game with a growing population.
As someone who rarely does the content in df but roams and looks for people doing content. Announcing is still a bad idea imo.
There are so many cool mob mechanics that are so under utilized... Heal other for example.. when a mob go and heals another mob.. THATs cool! put those mobs in there with it rather than a st..sta..STACKED regen on a bullet sponge mob. You add a bunch of weak mobs to the champ, all they do is heal, run around emote /shrug at everyone.... ??? CONTENT!
I can't grasp the logic here. If there are announcements when groups engage mobs and then people rune into your spawn people, players will stop going to mob spawns. Which would mean less people than there already aren't out in the open world. Open world PvP should be roaming groups finding PvP opportunities. Not groups sitting in safety of their cities waiting for an announcement so they can rune in. On 2nd thought go ahead give people another reason to not to bother even logging into this game. Which millions of people in the gaming community have already decided NOT TO DO.
We need more ways of getting 120 stat pots also. It’s ok if they are pretty rare but the random person coming back to the game needs a way to catch up. Players that haven’t stopped playing all have it done so no one is really wanting to help new players farm them off champs which I can’t blame them. It’s a pain in the ass. Or make 120 max meditation and just make it cost a shit ton of gold and a long wait.
It was a choice between the announcements and dead content. ZERO people killed it with the 10+ additional mobs spawning around it,it was just not worth it. The compromise between making it "free loot" and dead content was introducing a mechanic that would encourage other players to contest it. It was dead content, and now it's not. People kill it, people fight over it, this is an objectively positive change. This might be the first time since 110 pots were introduced that the heatmap had any red in center map. https://gyazo.com/c4c9a70c621f63a329c5f718fdfef754 Before / After. --- Post updated --- The 5(?) highest tier mobs in the game* You left that part out.
+1 agree, end game stuff should always be contested, --- Post updated --- I dont have 120 xD i just have 110 bro grind it out like the rest of the people imo, personally im fine with 110
End game content should be contested because the loot is worth it and the game is populated. It should NOT be contested because there are 20 people online and someone sees a system message, or someone is abusing mechanics by using a bot that spams discord every time someone is PvEing. You guys are justifying really bad game design because the game is dead. It's literally a vicious circle of bad game design causing a dead game.
Your a typical millennial, wants stuff for free without working for it. YOU choose how many you bring to kill a mob. Don’t feel safe enough, bring more people but less loot. End game mobs should not be free loot bud. They need to add the messages to champions too, don’t like be jumped, you jump the next crew or use scouts. I do agree with jar about the guaranteed weapons and get rid of the shitty protection gems.
If you read my post I didn't say it should not be contested. Have fun playing a game no one wants to play!
If the loot is worth it, people will try. Darkfalls not for everyone man, just go farm goblins in the capital city, your safe there!
If the devs spent more time making content for the game and promoting it, and less time adjusting XML files and making global announcements as content patches, the end game mobs would be contested at all times. A thriving population solves the "free loot" issue. Bad mechanics, DO NOT.
I remember there being natural hot spots in DFO (hivekin queen). That was fun. Too bad roa isnt fun in any way.
Twenty people clustered around the Hivekin Queen shooting arrows and magic at it for no proffit or damage, just to skill up, most of them afk using autohotkey, is your idea of a natural hot spot? You could always set your char up shooting arrows into the air and just head off to work, if that is your kind of fun.
