Announcements are fun for the vets. For newer clans/people they are a reason to not try that content cause they would get stomped by anyone instantly porting there. Thats the reality of it. Its up to the devs to decide if they want their hardcore vets to have instant pvp with less people attempting it or to make that content available to newer players with possibly more organic pvp encounters.
Is the announcement any different than the blackwater and nacl naked alts that are at every spawn?? hmmm I think not. All the announcement complainers just wants the advantage of knowing people are there for themselves. This evens the playing field! Alts should auto log if not moved every 2 minutes.

You misinterpreted what I wrote lol. There are naked alts at those very spawns, not because people are roaming lol. So I actually proved my point that the announcement is the exact same as a naked alt watching you. Your gonna get zerged no matter.
I don’t disagree that naked alts are a problem. They are as cheap as alts being used as discord bots. However, I don’t see how that justifies bad game design. Your logic is “well others are able to exploit a game flaw so the devs should just open it up to everyone”, my logic is “well others are able to exploit a game flaw so the devs should fix it”. Just a different way of viewing it I guess.
Agreed, we have different viewpoints. And its not an exploit, they are doing nothing wrong, so how can you say its an exploit? If they did remove the announcements, If they don't fix the naked alts at the same time as adjusting the announcement then it just helps a select individual clans with bots, it fixes NOTHING!
Botting is not exploiting? I disagree... I think the only reason they get away with discord bots, is because it's impossible to ban an individual for it. As for sitting AFK scouting all day, no that's not exploiting in that sense. However, it is exploiting a game flaw as in there is no deterrent. Edit: I remember in the early 2000's a dev team claiming this game would have roaming mobs. How cool would it be to have an anti-AFK mechanic where if you are afk in the same spot out in the wild too long, a monster would spawn from a nearby spawn and come kill you?
They are not "botting" they are leaving an alt logged in and sitting listening, so NO that is NOT an exploit. Roaming mobs would be sick, but never going to happen. All they have to do is make it so you have to move your character every 2 minutes or immediately crash your client.
They are absolutely botting. They are extrapolating information and displaying it using a third party program. What you are suggesting is someone is sitting around and manually informing the discord every time someone enters system chat. That’s not remotely close to being true. Also, please never be a programmer lmao. Crash the client if you don’t move for 2 minutes? RIP restroom breaks or parents.
Once again you are misinterpreting what I wrote. You are ASSuming that I am speaking about he Blobwater bot, and I am NOT. I am purely talking about naked alts sitting in spawns, which is NOT exploting. The Blobwater bot is "probably" against the TOS but I am not an expert, nor are you, so I cannot confirm. The devs just need to take out the information that they take from wherever and their bot wont work anymore. Crashing a client after 2 minutes or SO, if 2 minutes is not the ideal then it can be X, would fix the situation, hmmm maybe you don't want your alt to be auto logged off? Seems like you are one of those guys who wants their own bot, but not an announcement lol
There is no assuming going on with me. I have responded directly to the points you’ve made regarding the discord bot and AFK alts at monster spawns. Crashing the client is not an option or a solution at all because you can set up an AHK script to auto jump or turn every 30 seconds. Just because I disagree with your horrible suggestions does not mean I use alts to game the system, it just means I want to make sure the devs don’t offhandedly look at any of them and implement them because they’d be shit.
You keep bringing up the Blobwater bot and I NEVER mentioned that before you brought it up out of thin air. The fact is alts need to be dealt with at the same time as an announcement change otherwise it’s pointless. FACTS!
See below. Also, you're wrong. It still fixes the fact that these alts that are AFK at champion spawns or dragons or wherever else, can't be on 24/7. There's still a chance that someone can fight this and the only way someone finds out is to come across it naturally. The announcement absolutely makes sure that no matter what - People will see this in discord! Also the big reason I bring up the discord bot is because 100% of clans that use said bot PROFIT off of global announcements. People see discord bot repeating what is going on in game, people log into game, zerg down players, take their loot, then log out again. Promoting that type of gameplay is D U M B

First I was in BW for a bit and all I saw the bot announce was people entering their cities. Are you even sure it announces when a mob is at half??? Lol cause I never heard or saw that.
