    xD you can throw on the baddest set around doesnt mean you're guna be getting hit by the mob, and you aren't outhealing 250 damage a hit either. especially while getting knocked back by said mob, and 50 other mobs running infront of you

    These are just tests, we'll hopefully be better at selecting with the real ones :p

    In regards to the minions we already have plans for a change. We're going to have them come in waves so it's worthwhile to clear them out.

    might be a good idea to have the add waves, if killed in a certain amount of time take a certain % off of the bosses HP.

    maybe have Bigger add waves spawn at certain boss %hp then he goes invuln maybe for a short time does some RP/powerup/goku crap if you don't kill a certain amount in time, cool mechanics like this could open up more opportunities for ganking groups already involved in the encounter.

    just an idea

    I parried the champion with my shield out, and it still did 45 dmg with a high level shield and 23 encumbrance with a dragon/mage set.

    We wer doing lots of damage to the champions, I didnt see the health bar move at all

    also.. server crashed?!

    Anyways....... Didn't a BPG member post something about how they will be tweaking the champion spawns for tomorrow, why cant we have those posts included in this thread. This is the right thread for it eh? The BPG posts seem to be so scattered and should be more consolidated so that I dont have to read every thread to search for an update

    I posted that, yes. We'll continue tweaking it through the remainder of beta. It will give us the info we need for the live champs.

    I'll have to say, without taking part in any of this, if certain specific mobs are farmed ad nauseam there will be a specific influx of skinning mats and loot from that over farmed mob. So it should be taken into account that if you kill 8 Fire elementals, at least pre patch, will get you something around 50+ cinder.

    if 9 people can't touch the health, is there an intended number of players required to kill the champs? 20, 30, 40?

    it's hard to make a guess at what a reasonable number of required players is when we don't know the loot, obviously it makes more sense to require an enormous party of 40 players if the loot is just insane.


    edit: if it does require 40 players, how do you intend for that loot to be split easily? in AC certain boss mobs would drop keys (that each player could only loot one of) that could be used to get the reward. what kind of system can we expect with the champs?

    This right here is what is wrong with your and everyone elses arguments.

    They are trying to make the game better, to expand on it.

    You and everyone else are still trying to play this game the same way you did back in 2009.

    If they are going to change this game to make it better, you have to dump the ideas of how you pve'd.

    You may need to "spec" your party to take down these champion mobs. You may need to have x number of indestructibles, x number of guys with healing staffs, x number of destroyers, x number of mages with the appropriate staff to maximize damage.

    Approach this content the same way you would for most other games.

    Sieges hardly field 10 players per side. To need more for a Mob is just blatantly stupid. Understandable if you had a population of 10k people but seriously.
    Champ spawns in uo could be cleared with 5 people or less even. Doom bosses were capable of being 2 maned. Nothing like uo.

    I welcome any sort of raid boss. Long gone should be the days of spinning around a demon and killing it with 2 people. If they want to put in large scale bosses with eventual "WoW Style" engagements in terms of mechanics/phases that potentially could take upwards of 40 people, then go for it, it is one of the main types of pve that is completely missing from darkfall roa

    There is no way to designate a TANK. Beacon works sometimes but it isn't reliable. There is not a reliable method of forcing a mob to attack one person making them the tank.

    This isn't about playing the game differently this is about the game mechanics not supporting it.

    It's getting changed. Beacon will be made stronger and heals will also affect agro.

    But are you actually building up your party for those roles? This is an honest question.

    Do you have x number of guys with indestructible and full plate? Do you have guys that are geared specifically for the roles that need to be played, or are you guys geared the standard darkfall way?


    Again, honest question.

    We had 3 people in mixes of full infernal/fp and 6 in standard infernal mage bags. No one was indestructible though. The spawns we did had hardly any magic damage until the grey ork executioner randomly started casting arcane.

    Edit: We get to the bosses no problem. Its damaging them that isn't possible or wasn't as of yesterday.

    make it a self beacon, or a self taunt please. Make it a really cheap melee skill...
