    For the love of God PLEASE also revert Eyerot it's so useless atm

    Also please at least give Pungent Mist it's old damage back, it should do noticeably MORE damage than the other rays because you gave it a cast time AND increased it's cooldown from 15 seconds to 60 seconds AND it's a damage over time spell NOT a lump/instant damage so it SHOULD do more total, I believe you also raised it's original stat cost.


    If you need me to link you the patch notes/ date this was done the link is down below, but there were other patches that nerfed mage unfairly while buffing Destroyer (I'll link them all if i must to PROVE how one sided the buffs and nerfs have been because I think a lot of people have forgotten) So mages STILL need some minor buffs such as...

    Allowing jumpshot by default on ALL spells except rank 90s, field aoes/WoF, and magma (will settle for rank 50s only getting jump by default if this takes time though)

    Bringing back self buffs but consolidating them into 1 for melee/archery prots 1 for magic prots and 1 for spell haste

    Stronger - protection debuffs and more slow effect on slow ranged and slow melee (IF you're keeping the much lowered durations that you changed from DF1)

    Unlinking WoF and Toxic

    Uncapping Corpsecall staff magnitude from 1.0

    Eventually adding new Bone armor tiers (take your time)

    Combat Changes
    • Eye Rot has had its damage decreased, debuffs removed and cooldown increased to 1 minute
    • Pungent Mist now has a cast time of 1 second, damage has been decreased and its cooldown increased to 1 minute
    Start with reverting that ^

    Sounds good, might as well get something in before the armors. JUST PLEASE, PLEASE. AS YOU MOVE FORWARD. DONT WORRY ABOUT COMBAT AFTER THIS REVERT. COMBAT WAS NEVER AN ISSUE, PEOPLE PLAY FOR THE COMBAT. FOCUS ON CONTENT AND YOUR PLAYER BASE WILL FORGIVE YOU.

    Well for Eyerot they either have to bring screenshake back OR make it blind like confusion because atm it's useless trash unless you're using it on an absolute retard/noobie they can see right through it.

    It also does no damage anymore the cool down is way longer and it doesn't debuff


    That spell got ruined

    Other spell screenshake can stay gone IDC either way

    Just for the record up until today my efforts have not been on combat or armors. “Team b” has been dealing with it so my time has been put into creating foundations for future additions. I thought that was known. My personal time wasn’t wasted on these changes.

    I have been helping of course but not dev time.

    Your attitude has much improved, not sure if you just saw the light of how condescending and arrogant you sounded but you are much better now, I know backhanded compliment LOL - you need to teach Neilk what you learned, guys high horse needs to go!

    And here's a tip, Michael Taylor needs to be fired, even if he does the job for free, he's shit. This should be in the announcement section, blasted on twitter and discord. People shouldn't have to hunt to learn wtf is going on the game. It's seriously a joke. A good community manager can make or break a game. You should be constantly communicating every week and posting vids of sneak peeks or doing small patches blasted noin stop.

    And for the love of god work on something for us to do!!!!!

    Easy changes - 4 VCPS go live at a time - two are 1v1 vcps- after 2 people click it disappears, one is a 2v2 vcp soon as two parties of two portal, it disappears, last is 5v5 same shit. Add good loot to all the quests in the game, buff trade routes to drop R 80 mats, Add something cool to the daily iklit dungeon - GIVE US SOMETHING!!!!!!!!

    You guys don't get it, combat is NOT THE PROBLEM, the problem is there is nothing to do, and dying is too unforgiving for noobs - Add drop 0 loot in lawful areas to start - Do this and watch the game become populated again!

    i think this was a panic move from ROA to revert, pop is at all time low, MWtaylor doing... MWtaylor stuff. Patch is no way near to be done. So u guys had to give us something.


    and to be honest, i got a bad feeling about 2019 :pensive: and u guys cant blame us to feel that way.

    Pretty disappointing. We wasted how much time trying to balance the combat on pts? We've been going in circles for so fucking long man, this is old. We just want content. If your gonna revert, revert to before the first big combat patch last year that made all of the big clans quit. Full revert, put it on live, then we go from there. bspikes, self buffs, everything included so we can get a full playerbase input on what needs to happen. And to be honest, you should probably just leave the combat as it was. Like everyone is saying, the combat is and never was the issue. Its the lack of things to do. Please don't make another big mistake.




    also its nice to see toxic posts from certain players are still being overlooked.

    Actually, no! This isn't a panic move at all :) What this is, is the realization that if we spend all this time working on armor in this particular fashion and then re-introduce new bone for a mixes set we are essentially recreating the exact same thing with slightly modified numbers. That if we instead worked with the old numbers and adjusted the new armor to fit i instead we could have the same result without all the fuss and everyone would be happy.

    It's not like we were sitting there thinking, "what can we do!?!". In actuality most were just concentrating on their goals for the armor models or the balancing. It wasn't until it was viewed from the outside that all the changes happening were going about it wrong.

    I just went back and read ALL the patch notes since alpha (I think people would be surprised if they too read them and saw just how much has changed combat wise and how much in favor of Destroyer it is, there were actually some things even I forgot about)

    TLDR = They need to revert to combat AT LEAST to pre March 16th 2018 patch, that's when they started REALLY fucking with stuff with the Eyerot and Pungent nerfs


    But here's links to shit BPG changed combat wise that started even earlier and drastically hurt mages vs Destroyers ...

    Removed need for the Aquashot upgrade. It has been left on the fighters menu temporarily to allow players time to remove it if they have already purchased it. Description updated, and can no longer be purchased.

    • Jumpshot is now purchased separately and has a 10% mana penalty.

    That means BPG gave Destroyer a MASSIVE buff by allowing them water shot by default and jumpshot as a third archery option which let them go Jumpshot+ Watershot+ Mage Killer + Mage Hunter compared to DF1 when they could ONLY go Mage Killer+ watershot... HOW did anyone think that alone wouldn't rape balance?

    Yet almost no one said anything at the time except me.

    • Slashing/Piercing/Bludgeoning Weakness - Increased cooldown by 500%, increased stat costs by 400%, reduced magnitude by 50%
    Did they REALLY need to make the cool down 5x longer cost 4x more stats AND cut magnitude in half? I say NO and that the magnitude portion should be REVERTED as debuffs are under utilized and this was key in mage vs Destroyer match ups

    Revert Eyerot entirely (including screenshake OR make it fully blind) aside from MAYBE the increased cooldown/debuff and give Pungent it's damage back

    Then after that the next patch was the one I believe you and @kilrain were referring to (but like i pointed out it wasn't the FIRST time fucking with combat went wrong that needs reverting). I'll post the links and notes now then give my opinion on each change tomorrow as I'm already spending too much time on something that probably won't even be read....

    • Back damage reduced by 50%
    • Buffs have been removed from the UI
      • They are still in place on the player so levels will not be lost if they are implemented again later
    • Armor protections have been boosted 25% across the board
    • Base casting speed has been increased by 65%
    • Casting delay (between spells) has been reduced by 20%
    • Staff magnitude effect on spell damage has been increased
      • Top damage staves will remain the same and lower damage staves have been reduced (effectively)
    • Stamina damage for bludgeoning has been doubled
    • Fixed a bug where figurines would maintain their weight reduction after being removed from the paperdoll.

    • Specializations have been removed:
      • Double jump and archery jumpshot have been added by default
      • Side step can be added and removed at the fighter or mage w/o penalties
    • Sarracenia, Bonestaff and Aubade 50% Decrease in respective school buffs.
    • Cobrastaff speed increased from .70 to .75
    • Armor magic protections have been equallized
    • Archery damage increased +5
    • Arrow damage has been separated from piercing damage.
    • Weapon critical hit (random) removed
    • Magic:
      • 0-20 encumbrance stays the same as old way.
      • The effect encumbrance has on the outcome of advanced magic increases every 20 levels
      • Advanced magic will reduce in level (1-5) based on encumbrance every 20 levels
      • E.G. if you have 80 encumbrance, wof will now have the effect of a level 1 regardless of the level you have it at.
      • All advanced magics will fizzle at or above 75 encumbrance.
      • Field AOE’s global cooldown 100% at 20 seconds
      • Toxic rain changed to cold damage.
      • Equalize r90s - (unholy flames) same damage, velocity, 20% stam drain, Exploding charge knockup, charge time and range. Shared 5s cooldown (only one required)
      • Bolt spells have equal speed, range and damage
      • Impale graphics adjustment, has been made smaller to not affect Alfar as much.
      • Fireball debuff removed, 3s cooldown
      • R50s (not fireball) share a 1.5s global cooldown.
    • Light battlespikes no longer provide physics displacement (knockup)

    Combat Adjustments

    • The previous 25% increase to armor protections has been changed to a linear increase for both physical and magic protections.

      • Tailoring armors are all increased at the same value Bone received at 25%, the result is an increase to all tailored armours below bone.
    • Magic encumbrance penalties have been raised from 20 (regular) encumbrance to 40 before the new penalties begin. This will allow for more “heavier” armors to be used for mages before spell levels are affected.
    • Staff magnitude changes have been reverted.

    Combat Adjustments:
    • Destroyer and Mage Killer specs available. At 50 encumbrance they get full effect at 100 encumbrance they get 50% effect reduced linearly between the two
    • Buff others have been re-enabled. Haste, Rapid Shot and ironskin have lower magnitude bonus than previously.
    • Physical Protections on metal armors have been lowered
    • Archery damage slightly reduced

    The old gameplay balance need only some little fix....better add some specializations and racial skills...but if you try to make big change to the old gameplay its the end hehe we found that balance after 9 years....

    I post here twenty times the easy solution for self buff.....when you casting one self buff that buff it's active until you log off...if you want remove the self buff effect cast it again....

    Or make self buff passive skills....
