dont feel like going back to UW, its been fun. RIP
this. Fucking this. PLEASE FUCKING NO.
Yes we know there will be a lot of balancing to be had, this will completely change meta in many ways which we feel is ultimately a good thing. We will be implementing these changes slowly week by week over the next few months while we work in tandem on dynamic housing, territory control mechanics and other smaller additions.
This is the rough game plan, there may be changes to these ideas during the implementation and play testing. Before the question gets asked yes if an idea isn't working out as intended we will tweak and revert if necessary. Now is everyone's chance to get involved in the future of one of the game's biggest pillars. We're prepared for an onslaught of opinions, please keep it constructive and respectful
The atmosphere in my discord right now feels like we're on the titanic post-berg.
Why is this even on the table? Combat is fine right now, just decrease the damage and we're gravy.
There is no way you can "Not change combat" by adding these titles system. We wanted DFO back because of the combat. Just give us content, focus on your territory control mechanics and fleshing out that Conquest system. Give us reasons to go out and use the great combat system that exists now, not change what we have.
This will just be a waste of time, your time is better spent elsewhere.
Combat is great now, but reduce damage. Biggest offender is splash damage, way too much splash damage now.
Being brutally honest, not being toxic. You guys don't understand the game or understand any type of game balance in general. We all quit UW/ND because of the very things you are planning on adding in.
Stop Copying New Dawn with their combat, its fucking horrible - it's what brought all the people back to RoA - Don't go down that road.
Keep Hybrids how they are now - change the staff damage - add archery skills and ammo - that's what we want
there was enough room on the fucking door for jack btw!!!

Love the ideas. Its absolutely needed. Like others have said, it will be tough to balance.
These are changes the game needs. Look at what DnD did and learn what lessons you can.
To those of you saying these changes are bad and will kill the game.....................lol.
Alright boys, I'm picking my titles, see yall in 56 days when my titles are maxed
Most people I talked to liked the ideas of the specializations but didnt like the balance or the fact that they werent all in and didnt feel like grinding schools that were going to be dramatically changed in a half year.
Also, the localized banking and no recall.
But yea, keep going with your view as to why everyone left new dawn to come back here.
I don't ever want to come home now.
It reads like this is the kind of balancing ideas you guys are going for
You know the changes to bunnyhopping you guys are so proud about? Yea you guys essentially got it buffed, not that I mind, I like bunny hopping around. But abso can keep pretending they know better
They didn't mention real time level or shit like that right? Also, DND didn't and still haven't gotten their title shit in order. That's why it fucking sucked. They launched with it like 90% undone. lol.
I like the staff changes, that's been needed for a while now, as for the rest Won't know till I try it out, I like diversity, as Long as balance is in place!
Dude this is an RPG yes, but it is still an FPS. You can't have massive number differentials and specializations. You can't have massive complexity while still maintaining an FPS.
You need little perks and standard magic schools, such as stage 1 that allows some quirks to playstyle. Stage 2 is actually the ND route, which is not what most people here want.
A couple things to add to the discussion:
1) the allocation of points into the various Combat Paths along with the activation of specializations will be changeable and WILL... NOT.... BE.... TIME..... LOCKED..... We are staying true to our core of being casual friendly and will allow players the ability to change their point allocations and active specializations to try out the many combinations they can think of
2) think of this system as a large expansion on the specialization system that is currently in game - we are merely adding more to the equation to create more diversity alongside providing a more intuitive and user friendly UI tied to the selection
You think BPG will launch this title system more than 50% ready? It isn't real time leveling but its essentially titles and it s u c k s
stage 2 is stage 4 cancer
Can I ask who is mostly responsible for designing this combat system!
