Monster Maps will be a map to a location exactly like treasure maps. When you get to that location, using the map will spawn a pedestal with a locked chest. Monsters will spawn in waves and attempt to attack the pedestal and destroy it and the chest. Some monsters will rush straight for the pedestal, while others will target the players first. Players will have to juggle between killing both types of monsters to prevent the chest from being destroyed and themselves being downed. If a player gets a certain distance away from the pedestal, the player-targeters will switch to the chest as well. Successfully killing all waves will of course unlock the chest. Open questions: Should the rewards/difficulty scale for the number of participating players? Should the maps be themed to monster families or just random collections of monsters?
