Revert to alpha combat!
Everything after alpha's combat was inferior to it.
They're hoping you'll forget.

Please stop any talks about reverts, the opinions and votes i see in this poll totally does not correspond to the opinion of people that i see in game. The only option that should ever be available is keep tweaking. I highly suspect that the poll in this thread is 99% ALTS.
Exactly, it's not longer a vote or popularity contest. Combat simply has to be reverted.
Haven't you seen Andrew's post? Clearly, voting to balance combat is not a good idea.

The back damage is very low now compared to before and fights can last for a hell of a long time in melee, going on for ages.
It would be good if it was reverted it in full or at least 50% of the 50% reverted back to more back damage.
No, we want longer fights...
If this list of changes got implemented in ND, people would actually like them (when ND had players left to care). Goes to show how wildy different play styles can be, even in this niche community.
Personally I see nothing bad in this list. DF1 combat was always shallow and repetitive and anything that shifts the meta towards more diversity should be a good thing.
The back damage is fine. Reverting it would only be (another) advantage vets have over new players.
I'm not sure. I believe the back-damage reduction has given players a greater sense of security and raised their 'courage' to bring out gear that is actually causing the main gap between new and veteran players today.
In prior DF games you could get bursted down even in the best gear bag (With the exception of Q5 dragon indestructible 1h/shield tanks), it made people less likely to over-gear for the situation they are headed for. Right now I mostly get killed by people using at least 2 ranks of gear above me and most likely much better enchants as well. If back-damage was as it was before, at least two of these people would have died by me because I'd have done 50% more back-damage during those back-hits in dances.
I get it but your not a new player. A new player will make way more little mistakes like showing their back so they will just be punished harder for it.
