980 is a beast. I upgraded from 780 to get it abit more silent. I dont think my 980 ever runs on full capacity.

Nope. You'll have about the same performance as my 2500k + 660 ti.

Your first core will max out at 100% and that's your bottleneck. Hyper threading doesn't help darkfall either.

The CPU I linked is a dual core with very similar / slightly better performance than my 2500k quad core. That's what'll get you dat nasty fps

you might also want to consider a solid state drive. I heard they decrease loading screen times significantly

not sure why you would put some random #'s in like that. No one really knows what the FPS you will get until we are in a 500 man siege with said specs. But you most likely wont lag with these specs and if you do it probably isn't your computers fault.

    Like, if you're not trolling....

Your CPU is insanely shit-tier compared to the rest of your rig, and needs an upgrade, but:

    You'll be fine. You'll have 50-80fps in a siege, and 200ish normally.
The other dude will have 70-120fps in a siege, and 200-400 normally.

But if you were to build a new PC, the CPU I linked would be best for DFO.

DEFINITELY get the 144hz first. Your cpu is only shit COMPARED to the rest of your pc, but it's still a good enough cpu.

If you're on 60hz, get the fucking monitor bro.

your computer you linked is insanely cheap though. Why not spend more for higher end stuff?

    I went from a old ips 2560x1440 60hz to a 1080p tn 144hz screen but now i have a 3440x1440 60hz ips ultra wide.

I can say i take ips high res great coolers all day over 144 hz, i know that there are 3440x1440 144hz ips (acer x34 predator) now days but im not gonna spend 1300 usd for a screen when the only different from my ips 3440x1440 ips screen is the hz and g-sync, and it costed 650 usd.

You can clearly feel and see the diffrence from 60-144 hz but yoy get used to the screen after a few days and to days ips screens are really great almost no lag or blurry ghosting, compared to my old 2560x1440 Dell ips that hade alot of lag and blur/ghosting, my new one i cant barly see the lag if i dont put up my 144hz screen beside it but the i get sick of the ugly tn coolers

It's tailored for darkfall. current gen dual core on par with a 2500k = maximum darkfall fps.

You could spend more on the GPU, but you wouldn't need to.

120/144 is much smoother, and they have less input lag. Once you make the switch, using a 60hz monitor will make you sick.

They cut loading time by 2 seconds. You still load for 30 seconds, but after you hear the "splat", you load in 2 seconds instead of 4.

Darkfall was the first thing I installed on my new SSD back in 2011, and boy was I disappointed. :p

If you want to go all out, then I'd skip the skylake i7. The (cheaper)i7 4790k has the best single-thread performance, which makes it the best choice for gaming in general, but especially for Darkfall. The rest of that rig is fine, except you'd need a different mobo and ram for the older gen cpu.
