I'd like to start off by thanking BPG for their hard work so far. I think we're all appreciative of the technical information post you guys made regarding the server lag but is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Do you have any estimates on when this will be fixed so that we can tell people that keep popping into discord saying "is the desync/lag fixed yet? No? k, I'll try tomorrow." Right now all you can really do is gather and farm mobs. When can we feel confident enough in the servers to go out and PvP again? Thanks.

OP heres an announcement explaining whats going on from a programming standpoint https://forums.darkfallriseofagon.com/threads/server-lag-desync-update.12439/ Its an issue with the code that's pretty deep. It's not just tweaking a function or some parameters here or there. Basically you can't "hotfix" this lagg. The very way the servers handle processing the saves needs to be redone to be asynchronous. this kidna stuff is hard to put a timeline on as it'll likely take several iterations of changes before they can put up a patch for this. Restructuring the core approach to the saves is a deep enough change that it's likely to cause some cascading effects that will need to be ironed out over several iterations. Considering the small size of the team, this gives us the long delay we've been seeing on the fix. the announcement mentions some changes were made and put to test on Sunday, So you can assume they're in that ironing out process now.
The desync is the lag the refer to. Where u cast a spell and it takes for seconds for the effect to occur. Causes you to miss begones and other projectiles.
I doubt BPG knows. Its already been over a month. Will probably end up being 'months' (at least 2 months post launch) before its fixed.
can't really pvp right now to be honest. Last night me and another clannie ran up to 3 dudes farming the dungeon and right when one of them was one hit, all of a sudden everything stopped for a good 3-4 secs and the guy floated in the fair and teleported way the fuk away. While this is happening, his friend somehow convienienly teleported behind my back hitting me and by the time the lag ends i am one hit from being dead. Lost 200 regs of each in the process. Its the last time I am going to try to pvp until this lag is fixed. Its really tough to win any outnumbered fights with this lag.
Meh game is just boring right now since no one is roaming about due to the lag. I havent had the urge to login for a couple of days
