You guys have a lot of work ahead of you and a lot of voracious customers. Hopefully our fervor isn't mistaken for frustration as we are all glad you guys are working so hard at returning us such a great game. That being said, please stop wiping so often.
Keep up the amazing work! Was quite annoying with all the server crashes/take downs on Saturday and Sunday but it's looking much better now.
Someone tried to DDOS the servers? Your life must be really pathetic when you think that's a good thing to do with your time.
Will the new launcher use compression when transferring the files? The game client and all the data files are ~9 gigs, if you RAR or ZIP them you'll get something like 4.5 gigs. Seems you could save alot of data transfer by compressing in flight from the patch server to the launcher...
Question about the items you are adding, will you be adding those from darkfalls old contest from years ago or from the recent contest? Also great jobs guys! I cant wait to build my character up!!
DestLocke, what u guys planning about weapons? I think some interesting tweaks can be implemented. As example we have 2 kinds of r50 greatswords. Why not add more speed in a dawnblade and damage on dawnrazor? Etc etc Another thread is: U guys are thinking to change or tweak some racial passives?
Since we're repurposing some of the low rank weapons, we're actually aiming to have 3 R50 and 3 R60, and then have 2 variations and one "vanilla". For instance, if the weapon usually 0.7 damage 0.5 speed, the two others will be 0.72 / 0.48 and 0.68 / 0.52 . Not a huge change but a start and a small little something that will be a choice / trade off. Racial passives we haven't really looked at too much yet.
No idea to be honest, once we implement the changes we'll find out and go from there if it's not enough
Everyone will just end up using the fastest version for greatsword/axe/club damage for knives and one handers if for pvp Polearm damage for ww maybe a few will try speed if the speed version reaches .20 (imo default polearm needs to be .15 minimum if you want ANYONE to primary it) Choice isn't bad , but I'm just saying that's what this community always does Even if you make the speed one cost more it will still become the standard
Makes sense if we take a not a dfuw experience. Everyone picking a militante stuff (fastest) Damage needs to compensate the speed to be used. Also, what bout greatswords x greataxes x greatclubs ?
I must say that I think that your guys are doing better than I expected. In the beginning I thought that you guys were just going to release as soon as possible (which you did) and don't change / improve a whole lot of things but I was wrong. I'm happy to see that you guys are changing / tweaking quite a bit of things. Darkfall was never a perfect game and most definitely could use many improvements. I still prefer most of the things being proposed by New Dawn more but I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy both of the games quite a bit. One of the main things that I personally dislike as well is the extremely anti social behavior people have in this community but that's the price I'm willing to pay for the best PvP MMORPG on the market All I can say is keep it up I'm really enjoying the progress.
