A look at what to expect for Rise of Agon throughout the rest of 2018. Read more: A Look at the Rest of 2018
I am a little sceptical of what is promised here. Why now do you plan to involve the community more? The community has been trying to help this whole time. This part of the article brought back some massive deja vu. Didn't we try this already with the focus group and relics? That didn't exactly work out. If going back to the drawing board is the plan here then I must put forth that we consider reverting all the previous changes and call it a day. Put it to a vote.
Combat has barely even changed. I don't get why some of you are so insistent on them reverting those changes instead of working on other important items...
please just do this for combat changes... It wouldn't take much time at all to revert it. They have backups, so it would just be copy pasting code and replacing files. Combat had more depth before, more counter play, more group mechanics, and didn't feel like a DPS race or a splash fest. It was much more fun and intuitive. Also... the reason they did the changes in the first place was for 'diversity' in preperation for relics.. if anything the changes made it less diverse. Revert everything and go from there with the community's input, or just revert it and leave it and focus on content. There was never anything wrong with the combat other than the 'lack of diversity', so revert it and add more specs or add stuff with relics. Removing Destro/Magekiller was a mistake.
1. We’ve always looked to the community for ideas, inspiration and help with direction but having a voting system, requested most recently by Squanto, for all things not just large primary focus items will show more definitively what the community wants worked on next. 2. This has been the plan for combat all along. Reach as much of the goal (diversity) as possible and then worry about specs/relics/whatever. --- Post updated --- Let’s stop all this and look forward, not backward. It will be healthier for the community as a whole.
Factories on sub continents looks cool. City buffs expanded looks bad, lots of cry babies gonna cry. Kinda was hoping for new dyes, skins, paintings, funhulks, and "stuff "
Do you hate your community or something? the combat patch was hands down the most hated DF patch. You have had nothing but negative comments and reviews on it yet you continue to ignore what we want and try to push some shit we don't want. I'm pretty sure even AV would have reverted combat at this point since no one likes it and everyone wants the old way back. This game probably doesn't have much longer the way you guys deal with the community that pays your bills. Pretty easy to see why most of your supporters left since the vision most of us signed up for was DF1 combat with bug fixes and new content added. It's been months of your community unhappy and a lot of People have quit and you still have your heads in the sand I don't get the mentality.
The goal is to create as much diversity as possible without them, and then see where we stand and in what ways we can/should enhance that diversity. We still love the idea of Relics but we want to work on combat first without them. Not at all. If we did we would have shut this project down a long time ago considering most of us still do not get paid. Join us for the Q&A this weekend as combat will most certainly be part of that discussion.
That's nice and all but most of us are over trying to discuss anything with you guys. its pretty clear you have your minds made up and none of us will change that so good luck with your broken combat changes. Hope that the 0 players it brings back and many it makes quit is worth it just like the bhop patch. It's almost like you don't realize you guys have lost the trust and faith of the community.
We get that you are frustrated, we highlighted that in the update itself. But the only thing our minds are made up of is to work more closely with the community on not only combat changes but what content and game changes will be added into our Community Patches. Maybe it will take a few of these patches to regain your individual trust, but we will be working on them regardless and the contents will come solely from the community.
Yeah, to be honest... just revert the changes, other than the armor protection increase... (all people wanted was higher ttk) then roll out the relics afterward to create the diversity... it's actually that simple.
We’ll be moving forward, not backward. While the current setup isn’t where we want it, neither was the old so going back isn’t going to happen nor will it actually solve anything.
When the old one was better than the new one, going backwards is actually a way of moving forward. When you admit you're wrong, meaning you took a bad route of doing things, reverting shouldn't be looked at as going backwards but fixing a wrong.
