I know a wipe/fresh relaunch is super unlikely but this will be a good template/test run to see if the game is more sustainable economy wise with all the various changes they made over the years. Without the year+ of hoarding the "new" rare materials with nothing to craft them with as a more known example. Could either shut up the wipe/relaunch crowd (if its still here) or reinvigorate it. Quite a few people that wanted a steam release wanted it done when the game was in a playable state and relaunched to a new audience so this might be a great test run to see if the game is ready for new eyes. The biggest can of worms the team would have to fight obviously is store bought stuff. People should keep their runebooks, skins, and shop items and maybe give a unique skin or game time if you were subbed to the game for a certain period of time.
the only thing that i personally wanted to fracture the current server's population would be an unholy wars remastered revival! not some worse-ping new server cash grab desperation move! it's gonna be the cry-baby wipe server, and i'm gonna ignore it.
Well well well... Question. What was the $64,806 used for that increased the development resources for Rise of Agon? It has been 102 days since the last update of this game. Why would you set a goal of 50k and not higher if you knew this wasn't going to be enough money to begin with. Population of current server is terrible, I've done the actual census and survey's to tell you that over 70% of your active player base wanted a wipe on live server. *I still have all the surveys filled out* So who's going to be left on your current server? Nothing about this idea translates to the vast current population returning to the USA server that will never wipe that the majority of its population went to a wiped asian server or quit for other reasons we won't get into. Are these employee's from Asia? How much did they invest? Who owns, operates and maintains the new server? Oh I know Panda, he was the one going around spewing all the plans 6 months ago to a 10 year old. Leaking PM's he had with Neilk etc lol This is a PM he shared between him and staff when Neilk reprimanded him.
What's wrong with some transparency? I'm just pointing out the guy likes to brag to little kids about his business endeavors and posts private dm's with Neilk once he gets asked about it. This guy is suppose to be the poster child of Asian Roa and our savior on the American server according to the original post.
He's the last chance this game has of being successful and you're trying to sabotage it by painting him in a negative manner lol. The guy has been playing the game for years and probably just got excited to finally be contributing to it.
He painted himself in a negative manner, darktide is only the messenger, and if your mental health was sound this would cause you to rethink your designation of him as the last chance the game has. But alas it is not.
He's the last chance? LOL stop drinking the kool-aide bud How did we get in this situation when our only hope of saving the game is exporting its dwindling playerbase to Asia? That's rhetorical btw The problem has never been lack of resources and money. It's mismanaging those resources and money into content that nobody asked for and changes that chased away the vast majority of the population. Now we're just expected to take some crazed idea that this is going to fix everything, get real.
A new server (Asian one specifically) will bring A LOT of attention to this game. You realize how big the Asian MMO community is? It's fucking massive and if they release it properly we could see a HUGE population over there. DFUW Asia was massive but we barely heard about it because it was region locked, most of us didn't get a chance to see it for ourselves. The company it was handed off to also didn't update the game at all so it died off fairly quick. Obviously resources have been poorly managed. But the devs also haven't had the tools or manpower needed to do big content updates, now we can maybe see that happen. This could be a fresh start for the game and will give the developers a chance to fix their mistakes and actually go down a path to make this game good. Ultimately that's up to them. Either way we're most likely gonna get the biggest population Darkfall has ever seen since like DFUW launch, and I'm fucking down for it. Hopefully they do the right things and manage to retain a good portion of it.
I have no doubt you're right about the Asian population and Rise of Agon will have huge numbers... in Asia at that point what's stopping them from just selling/licensing out or letting them run the company under the BPG name in Asia and walking away? Not left holding the bag so to speak..
Unholy Wars AFAIK is still sitting with AV, looks like the revival teams on that one went quiet I haven't seen much in a while on it. The server location is likely going to be HK and while we expect some may try it out its going to be a pretty high ping for the vast majority of our current community. --- Post updated --- This pretty much lol, An Su has been very excited on the prospect of this partnership for a while. He's a huge fan of the game and like us wants to see more people playing it.
