Where did you pull that figure from? A quick look at Jeeves shows regular patching I the past few weeks? Or are you only counting major content updates?
This pretty much lol, An Su has been very excited on the prospect of this partnership for a while. He's a huge fan of the game and like us wants That money has gone to paying key dev staff over the last couple years. Without it we would have had to shut down all development basically as we have not had the funds to pay for development from revenue. The issue with a wipe is that it's a hail Mary idea that doesn't really have an upside long term. Sure if we did we'd likely have an increase but at what cost? We'd lose the value of a persistent world and trust of the community to make the best decisions for the long term health of the game. If there was enough fundamental changes made to the game to warrant a reset it could be a possibility that may be a good benefit, sure. But thus far any conversation about wipes always ends up being a net negative. So long as the server can produce enough revenue to operate we can continue keeping the 3+ years of characters and history intact. At this stage a wipe isn't an option so there's no point discussing how to do one . it's a 6 figure sum to pay for development and server operation. BPG has an ownership stake in the new venture that will be the owner, it's all BPG devs that will be accessing the game/server code. We're providing the technical expertise in the deal and software plus I'm ordering the hardware but it will all be under the joint company.
Andrew rhe economy is so bad. At the very least changes need to be made and a soft wipe similar to what uw is needed.
I'm guessing by the all caps you haven't experienced the joy of a Asian pvp f2p server. Rampant. Thats WITH the same anti cheat software we have here on NA. Raaaaaampant. So good luck with that.
Your achievements are really impressive, Korea has a really large audience, I hope you will raise funds, expand, and open a European server to reach and make even more players happy. I also hope that you will solve the problem of snowball effect. (beginners can not catch up on the stats pumped and this clearly distorts honest PVP). I think bottles for stats can be removed and limited to 100, for balance. The lead has an advantage in battle and good equipment. In addition to the problem that darkfole is mostly not afraid of difficulties, who know how to play (strong) players. As for wipe, I think you should introduce a system with a minimum difference in the level between pumped and no.This is the type of "help of the gods for beginners" when hitting with a sword or bow, additional damage. (Only for players) So that beginners can at least somehow fight back those who play 24na7, on a good ping, with high fps. I am also waiting for you to make an automatic tournament system, in the Gladiators Arena, in a collise.so that viewers can watch in flying camera mode from anywhere, even if they do not participate. It's a spectacle. thx for attention.
good to see money flowing in i guess.. Hopefully there will be other poeple @ the helm for designs... since roa is complete been broken by the current design team
Ahh the king of autism has shown himself 64k how autistic actually are you get a grip of how game dev works you tool
I hope BPG goes down the sandbox route and away from the arena. Game really really needs content but especially casual friendly / mmo content rather than just killing each other for nothing New players will again be thrown into the pit against autistic elitist clans and get massacred, with the usual 0.01% sticking it out
Marshal still coming in with the comedy show. Welcome back to another permanent quitter. Great use of energy. Yes 70% of 40 people on a discord wanted the game wiped, and how many of them also wanted the game permanently deleted. What % of them also said they'd never play again? Very stable and reliable focus group. Welcome back all the same. Thanks for wasting everyones time. I'm hoping we start to go down that road now instead. Villages are testament to how the arena mindset doesnt apply to open world. Every iteration of them has been nothing but a problem. 1 step forward 2 steps back. The game has catered to the individualist mindset more exclusively than others, which has whittled down clan sizes and the scope of in-game events over time.
Think we all already know who the number fuckin one player is gonna be... YOUR BOY FINALLY GONNA HAVE LOW PING
Ya, doesn't work like that. Its horrible and unplayable there are hackers in every FT2 pvp game where the server is in Asia and thats with the same anti-cheat company we use now. Any legit multi game pvp clan avoids them. I'm incredibly disappointed. I've been back 3 weeks or so and for every couple things I really like about the changes and talk to my friends about as they are trickling in back to the game, I come across some game breaking bug or design flaw that completely destroyed it. And now BPG announced its going to pull players from the server/kill the desire to hold out for promised patches and changes for players on the NA server
What are you even talking about? Anyone in the US is going to get a better ping to NA server. The majority of the players who are going to get better pings to a Hong Kong server AREN'T PLAYING because they don't want to play with high ping. I play with 220 ms ping on a good day (with very occasional drops to 215), and it's not great. I'll get pulled over to the Hong Kong server for sure but most people I've played with are either from US or Europe and they will all be better off on NA. Meanwhile, more players = more revenue, which means more dev time. AFAIK, everyone working on the game right now is a volunteer contributor working in their spare time between commitments to the jobs they need to keep the lights on. If they all went full-time, 40 hours a week, working on the game, the changes we'd see would be huge.
[YaaaOK.jpg] Nice to see the reading comprehension hasn't improved over the years here. Because I've never ever seen the term "jointly" new server situation play out before [eyeroll]..... OR the fact that just opening a server in Asia with zero changes to the current game and BAMM! Cash and gaming population just comes raining down. Its a miracle!! ffs a FTP pvp mmo rolls out in Asia every 60 days, but this time it will be different!
