With how easy it is then to get back your alignment i fear the game will turn into a killfest, scaring away new players from the game. And by easy i'm talking about that there would be no restriction on gaining back alignment other than time and effort. At the same time i don't like the current system with just a lame time restriction.
any chance we will see quest that reward meditation points or mobs/chaos chest dropping meditation scrolls?
I think if you do the alignment mobs wrong, you will kill what little effect alignment even has now. It might be best to set it up as a quest to 'kill x mobs get x points' repeatable once a day so the amount of points one can get is easily controlled.
We do not want players being able to go from red to blue very easily through this mechanic, and based off of our initial numbers we are working with, we do not believe that to be the case. Is that what you were referencing?
Yes, if one can remove all their murder counts they got that day, every day, then people could just kill and go blue every day, making the alignment system irrelevant. I am not sure its exactly about easy/hard, but more about real time, for hardcore players have the skills to do 'hard' and even do 'time grinding' so 2 hours to go blue is very doable in an 8 hour gaming day, so thats why i suggest a more artificial limitation based on real time.
Yeah, we took all that into consideration during our discussions. We want being blue to mean something and be a status that cannot be easily obtained by those who go around killing blues. If a player can kill a few people to go red, and then can farm back their alignment in a day or two, that's not a very good system. The whole purpose of this initial change is to provide a more active way and another option towards regaining alignment, outside of the current altar mechanic. We take alignment very seriously, which is why it is one of the first major tasks we are tackling. We feel if we can develop a strong system that incentivizes being blue and makes alignment status more recognizable and meaningful, we will in turn open up the variety of player interactions out in the world.
@MWTaylor http://www.uoforum.com/wiki/index.php?title=Bounty_System best alignment system ever created
This bounty looks like complete bs. Now back to better game Darkfall. Dropping head as loot in a game where anytime you can be ambushed and you are already loosing all your loot is worst idea ever. Like death is not penalized enough, lets make it even more pain in the arse. At least AV wasn't stupid enough to add this bs.
So Anthony D is on the list of 10 winners. This is my name but not sure if its me... How can i verify?
