    Today's update goes over the proposed changes that will head to the Public Test Server aimed to create a good baseline of combat balance for upcoming systems.

    UPCOMING HOTFIX PATCH:
    • Specializations have been removed
      • Side Step, Double Jump and Archery Jump Shot have been added by default without penalties
    • Cobra staves adjusted to 0.8 speed
    • Sarracenia staves removed of their elemental bonus
    NEXT PTS COMBAT CHANGES:
    • Encumbrance has been adjusted to affect magic and archery at a steeper curve
      • Magic:
        • 0-20 encumbrance stays the same as current
        • The effect encumbrance has on the outcome of magic increases every 20 levels for advanced magics (4 Elementals, Necro and Arcane)
        • Advanced magics will reduce in level (1-5) based on encumbrance every 20 levels
          • If you have 80 encumbrance, Wall of Force will now have the effect of a level 1 spell
        • All advanced magics fizzle at or above 100 encumbrance
      • Archery: 0.0577 damage lost per point of encumbrance over 75
    Note: Encumbrances mentioned is in reference to the full, main encumbrance and not the individual encumbrances (magic/archery)

    Was archery cast speed reduction removed and it would just solely reduce damage?

    .0577 per encumbrance over 75 encumbrance.

    The references to encumbrance here are the MAIN encumbrance. Not magic or archery.

    Main encumbrance, ah ok. So with 150 total main encumbrance (which is kind of a lot), you'd get -4.3 damage per arrow.

    Currently encumbrance on full sets (without feather) are fullplate 106, infernal 117, and dragon is 126. So max 3 damage loss per shot.

    I mean, awesome for you guys for getting to more changes so quick. But uh, I pretty much need to by hybrid now if I want to be “destroyer” or I’m gimped, correct? Since eyerot, wof, debuffs, pmist are all available to me now, if I don’t use them I’m a big goose. Elaborate if I misunderstood please.

    There’s a reason I never played mage :/. I also don’t have it leveled even remotely.

    Hope this doesn’t turn into staminafall with no unfazed and everyone rocking great clubs. I will test and help this next weekend.

    dont remove destro spec.

    make it gives idk 5 points of damage per swing or something

    u cant force ppl to play exact the same.

    We need to test first....but i think all can work fine any chance to nerf hammer or increase blund. Protection ?
    And meditation for statistic up to 110 / 120? Whit the task we have many meditation point .....

    Does this mean we can have both side step and double jump at the same time or still 1 or the other? Just trying to clarify.

    They sort of have to in order for everyone to have a baseline equality to balance correctly, which I get.

    However I’m still bummed. Not that I have any idea how to resolve my summertime sadness, but I just hate magic with a passion so I’ll probably go back to my roots and be a fisherman.
