Today we are implementing another patch based off of community feedback. The full patch notes can be found here.
Good shit. What sique said is important right now too. Disable needs to be reduced to like 20-40 skill level and crafting is brutally slow.
It says that Quickness was removed from swimming etc but what about Vitality gains? Seems weird to not remove both. The increase in strawberries and blueberries from bushes seems kinda annoying. I always delete those but maybe total newbies would enjoy the food but then again they could just fish.
This. I actually prefer the herbs to make potions with and it was already too tedious getting enough of them. Now it gets even more tedious? Yikes. Doesn't seem like they are thinking some of these changes through very well. I guess they want even more afk harvesting to make a gear bag.
Not a bad patch. New player experience still needs a hefty overhaul. New characters should start with a few basic magic spells to kill mobs with. It's not even slightly entertaining to shoot mana missile for 5 days before you can use any worthy magic. I.E. needles/rend
There is a skill to lower crafting time I think. i'm interested to see the resource nodes changes.. more berries feels like it will be a good change .. All mobs dropping loot is certainly a plus.. nothing sucks more than killing a mob for 10 minutes for it to drop you jack shit. The cycles resetting is what I think I've been craving .. we'll see but I think its going to be the exact thing I needed so possibly thanks in advance.
From what I take from the notes, those resources drop 2x now, they've just increased the rate of berries. Maybe I've interpreted it incorrectly though also to add my 2 cents for new player experience - In every other MMO, you loot the mobs and sell the items. It's useless to do that here. Possibly on next patch increase NPC item vendor amounts?
I don't think the herbs count as regents, but wont know for sure till server is up. Also do the regents now blow 2 resources off the node with one hit or does the 2 regents count as 1 resource?
Industry unlocks at 50 wis and reduces crafting time by like 40% once maxed I think. It's already reduced my crafting time by 20%+ with where I have it leveled.
Problem is its going to take a very long time for a casual/noob to get to a point where they can actually have 50 wis. They are also the people that will generally be forced to harvest, refine and craft their own arrows, food and potions due to a lack of gold income and dying a lot. The time sinks are simply brutal for the class of player that has the least amount of time to play and that still needs to be addressed.
Honestly it only took me about 10 fishing trips and meditating it for a few days with the starter 25k meditation. On top of what crafting and gathering I was doing of course. It's honestly not that bad in the long haul if someone really wants it for themselves. [It's a crafting skill so if they really want it they'd be a crafter no? Otherwise it should take quite some time to get if they are doing it on the side.]
