You realize that group fights last much longer without buff others? I hope that most ppl didn't vote for them to come back and if they did, i hope we can vote to remove/revert things too.
I'm wainting TCS and housing too but I think that they never will do it... I'm bored and I'm near to stop...
Having buff others adds a lot more to the game then worrying about TTK. A lot can be done to adjust TTK . Bring back buff others if you want this game to be a success
some people like to play support and this adds to that ., the current state of support play is weak and boring ., haveing buff others makes the game more fun ., that is all
Was never a huge fan of buffs in general, but I liked buff others. I think their range should be increased and the duration shortened by a long shot to make them strategic in use. Self buffs can stay out of the game imo
The increased range and decreased duration for strategic use was alrdy in place and they removed them lol. But yeah I agree. Although I think self buffs are nice and you get bonuses for actually preping. People say it's annoying, but w/e takes less than a min to buff up lol.
So are we talking the 30 second duration version or the 5 minute duration version? Both are in my opinion poor iterations of design at no fault of the RoA devs since AV is the one that made them. I don't think they really belong in the game. If I were capable, I would make two spells: Physical Shield Medium range ray spell. 30-60 sec cooldown. Applies 30-60 damage physical (slashing/piercing/bludgeoning) protection shield for 10 sec duration. Magical Shield Medium range ray spell. 30-60 sec cooldown. Applies 30-60 magical damage protection shield for 10 sec duration. If the player has a 30 damage physical protection shield on them and they get hit for 35 slashing damage, then they would take 5 damage. The spell would then be consumed, and the next hit would be standard damage. That is a support spell.
Personally idc about buff selfs, its whatever, I enjoyed buff others because it adds a little more coordination, and you feel good when u land a haste before your boy goes into meele its like landing a heal when your boy is one hit and you save him.
Interesting. Thanks for clearing this up. I was gone over a year and returned to them being gone, but if they had already increased their range and lowered their duration I’m confused as to why they were removed.. Oh well, it seems that the consensus is that they should and will be brought back soon
one just spamming protections is lame like UW and playing that was not great . , the wide verity of buff others along with debuff makes playing support way more reactive then just spamming protections . . knowing where in your group the right buff others are better used was a lot more fun . , i agree with the av style being a bit redundant because everyone would just use so everyone was always buffed we can do with out that a lot like the way we don't really need self buffs . , i would like to see debuff duration changed to 45 sec on any and all debuffs . , i would like to see buff other duration 45 sec . , the magnitude of both debuffs and buff others should be exactly the same . , melee haste should be a direct counter to melee slow and quick buff should be the same as quick debuff . , side note that i am not sure people realized is when buff others got removed . , you get jumped at a spawn you would hear the buff others go off and yo could respond to it accordingly .. , now when you get jumped at a spawn its eye rott right on your ass and dead .,
can we nerf come hither some more I don't fancy getting pulled 6 times in the matter of 3 seconds from legion kthxbai
Theres no buff others good enough for magic dps. There's a few buff others worth using and 2 of them are absolute. 2 of these buff others are both used for melee oriented players and they are strong enough already. This mean that heavies reing supreme with buff others(my perception). I don't want bpg to add super hasten other just to make sure that buffing heavies become just as good as buffing mages. Yes, i mostly see buff others litterally as a buff to melee mostly and mages still can't fight underwater without a bow and they still cant use disable. I once got buff other'd when i was naked and i still out-traded a player in full gear in a wof. Right now, i i find myself winning more fights when i push as a mage. Haste will mostly bring back the pill & pull out meta in full effect.
a) need racial alliances hard coded i.e., on main land you cant kill your own race .... however, middle map should be a free-for-all zone and of course islands, there should also be a rare situation where one can switch sides through reputation farming or perhaps marriage?????? for the lolz???. b) the game needs to be dumb'd the fuck down Literally, talking like 4-5 buttons full stop with a two pronged approach to leveling, story mode (on-rails) and free-style (off-rails). The game currently is free-style mode, what we need is a full-on fleshed out fully integrated, engaging story mode that will instruct the player like a mentor on what to do, where to go to level up to become max'd out. Let's also spice it up with some good ole' racial goals / wars type of events for tangible rewards like increased XP and loot gains in racial zones or even denying other races their own rewards in their zones. Once the noobs become big boyz they will find clans and venture off to the islands or middle map where its free-for-all and the most lucrative loot / rewards and properties can be owned by players. This creates layers of content of players to go through as they get sucked into the game. The game just needs goals, objectives that are intuitive for noobs to get sucked into without all the fuss of figuring out a billion keybinds and spells etc.... YES some people in fact like the opposite, they want an extremely complicated high skill high learning curve game BUT all that does is create a barrier to entry for new competition to come up. Let's reduce that barrier to entry and allow new competition to get up and start sparring with the best, while maintaining the high intensity FPS / RPG component to the game. c) graphics needs to be better / multi-core support etc... Self-explanatory, we know this, you know this, everyone knows this but is it possible? World of Warcraft made a major update to their graphics in their latest release, is there anything else that can be done to the graphics side of things?
A quick update on this - the poll is officially closed and we will be releasing the Ranked Voting poll this evening. All but a few items made the cut which will be announced in the update thread.
