You should make free accounts have everything that a premium account would have and update your cash shop. All of the bonuses gained from a subscription should be available in the cash shop and a premium account shouldn't be a thing. A freemium system in which the free accounts feel worthless and gimped is just going to make people not want to play. Instead of framing the system as "sub or your gimped" it should be framed in a more positive manner so people will be less likely to be turned off by the system.
The only premium feature I'd need is the bank space Subbing just to put an item back into my bank feels pretty lame and I doubt I'll login for awhile
From launch up till combat changes, then stopped, came back for f2p and when they promised combat revert I probably spent more money on this game during f2p than any other time
as have I but what else is there to buy? They cannot possibly update store fast enough to maintain a steady income and without premium subs, is no way they can keep doors open for extended period of time + continue development.
Order Limit on the Market does not work. I have 15 sell orders and 1 buy order. Cannot create a new buy order. Also the bank space with 500 is far too limited (there is just too much crap you have to collect, so in reality, having 3-4 ready bags, you need to have 700-800 slots) in my opinion. Ingame Info on personal bank extension should at least tell you that it grants 100 slots. You need more payment options. For me only paypal is available, and I won't make a paypal account, otherwise I'd spend some money. I get that it's fine for a lot of people, and that a lot of people do have paypal accounts. There used to be an option with paypal to process CreditCards without an account though ? (Not possible in your store though.)
Maybe you should explain it better: With premium it's less than 6 hours to get pvp viable, without premium it's less than 12 hours to get pvp viable. Basically, both options have zero grind for an MMORPG, so take that excuse doesn't work here my friend.
An option I haven't seen mentioned is perhaps normal skillgain rates should apply while 24 hour newbie protection is active. Then it becomes a choice if you want to go grind hard stuff with vets and not do the actual "newbie" experience.
Putting bank spaces to 1/4th of premium is dumb. You need to give premium MORE than what we've had for all of darkfall.
I used to occasionally log in but not anymore. I dont want to be gimped and the game in it's current developmental hell and low pop isnt worth a sub. So i personally went from logging in every now and then to not bothering to log in at all. I feel like this system is ass backwards and will kill overall activity. It incentivised me to just stop playing altogether instead of generating occasional activity in game.
bank limitation on freemium does not serve the goal. people who comes back and want to try game out before pays for it can not do shit because their bank is full.
I'll be creating more skins. Just finished one recently and will be working on some others. Have about 2 to 3 more skins already ready to deploy but I think they don't want to over saturate the store.
So, lets just say, hypothetically, that i'm a vet that's really bad. Sounds like I should be in a great spot? Hypothetically...
Looks like it's time for us to start doing a word of mouth advertising campaign. Good job BPG! On the point about the nerfed skill gains rate. It isn't so much that it *is* bad, it's that it *looks* bad to prospective players. And worse, it will *feel* bad to those noobs who will be ganked with their gimpy nooblet characters. It will cost some potential players. How about just setting the skill ups equal- so that it *looks fair,* and then adding some free stat pots, and skill ups for premium subs? Then the freemium model can be advertised without the caveat of "but 1/3 speed skill gains" to prospective customers.
