Tough decision to make im sure, but I think a fresh start with some modifications to loot and other systems is definitely the way to go. Even if the game ends up running into problems later on it will be a good laugh playing a fresh DF server again. Here's hoping that BPG can implement all the lessons they learned over the years and release a solid version of the game. To all those salty about losing their banks and stupid 120 stats, SUCK IT NERDS. I'll see you idiots in banded armor in 6 months.
I mean sure it sucks to lose a bank you spent ages farming for but I don't think thats what most people are concerned about, at least I am not. The main concern is without considerable changes the game is just going to die again.
Yup it probably will. Here's hoping BPG learned some stuff over the years. I'm still pumped to play that month or two boom when it first launches, hopefully it wont be a complete grind fest.
Grindfest is what the game needs. If not people just finish their char and then log off. Agon needs to be busy with people out in the world
It worked out really well for the original game and DF Asia. Gotta bring more to the table than a boring ass grind with no payoff. I love DF but I'm not gonna spend 3 days shooting fireballs at the crog just to get one spell to 75.
Grind really wasn't the problem in DF1 it was all the bugs / exploits + some other stuff that caused the problems. While I agree it was a bit to grindy at the start I don't think it was the main problem, I also think after they boosted gains around the time of the ray patch, think every1 called it the jesus patch back then but dont remember, after that patch the grind was in a really good place, as was the game over all, but so many had already left by that point. I think that other than pvping there is a lack of end game content in the game to keep people playing long term.

I'm glad i grinded just enough to where it feels like i have nothing left in my bank. The ''no wipe'' promise was true while in reality, the curent server won't close. That sounds like a great relationship we are having here as it sounds like a lie by ommission about us having to grind again. I'm glad for the news, but i would feel devastated if i were one of the guys that grinded for a bunch of stuff that won't be used again. I was about to come back next month, now i can't wait to play with everyone else again real soon: planning on going no-life on DF. ATM, i'm playing God of War on God of war mode. Been released on PC a month ago.
I hate steam because it have like 20 procceses and its a miner.Can we have a option to log in from original lobby also,without steam itself
