If you PvP in lawful you should go red and drop everything. No loss except time if newbies get killed and all risk for attackers seems fine to me. Yes losing shitty goblin gear has made lots of people quit, it's stupid but I've experienced it first hand a few times. This doesn't seem like something that would take much dev time. And anyone disagreeing with this topic must've never tried to get friends to play because the struggle is real. @Sero If your idea is letting them choose to fight how do you do that?
Lear was a noob once. Let that sink in. We cannot continue to raise newbies in current conditions because the < 1% that survives turns out autistic.
Yes it most definitely will. The game is and always has been designed for empire builders, traders, merchants, PvE, exploration/discovery, role players and PvPers. The issue for many of those not here primarily for PvP is that it is exhausting as kilrain mentioned I think a few posts back. There needs to be recovery areas for relaxing it can't always be a tough, challenging experience. Contrary to the common vocal beliefs there are a lot of people who enjoy DF for PvE primarily or non "PvP banger" reasons. Those players add life, build empires and socialise. Giving areas for them to relax a bit and enjoy the game without the fear of an elite PvP player destroying them is crucial. These are the players that round out an MMORPG and an area we want to put more into for them and for all players to add more PvE and activities. The risk and reward for powerful gear and top end equipment/wealth will still remain in the lawless area. We will however add safer areas of partial or potentially no loot(One newbie area) for positive alignment players. These changes are relatively minor Dev involvement and it in part will use some new systems that are in place for other features. Darkfall will always remain true to a PvP game with looting of other players. These zones will allow another critical pillar of the game which is player choice. Choice to choose the level of risk you are willing to take with higher risk having higher rewards as it should be. We'll open a topic on this more specifically after dyes are in. It is scheduled for active development after dyes.
I'm not sure the diehards/tryhards on this forum, that in general believe that Darkfall 2010 unaltered was/is the holy grail of videogames, are the right persons to ask these questions. Your history of letting these forum personalities dictate your game development is the reason the game (still) is in the state it is today.
Uhh what? Did you read the thread? Sorry bud. You must have us confused with the people over @DND. On this forum we use logic to reach conclusions and not deluded visions.
2+ years into the game. And still talking about the same shit. HOLY CRAP. When playing with Cent OS is more fun than Darkfall - I gotta thank the Cent OS community for the seiges I am not participating in.
How would you gauge that this is going? In my opinion the death of this game will be due to how the devs have utilized these forums.
He blamed the community for lack of understanding when its been quite the opposite for some time. Warned about an early launch. Warned about PChamber removal. Warned about grind removal. Warned about combat changes. Warned about NPE. The devs still went through and changed those (or didn't), and look at where we are now. These forums are nothing more than a community platform and a means of communication between the devs and players. I'm not ready to say the game is over because everyone here wants to keep Darkfall, but homies need to wake up and smell the roses.
that's not some guy, that guy is yomi scithefallon. And no, it's not Got faced. It's not because he's blue colored that he gotta be got faced. Stop with your racial slurs, man...
