this is an av patch bunch of shit nobody wants outta nowhere creating a balancing nightmare gg whos in charge of crafting changes?
Grenades should still be in alchemy, i'll forward this to have it looked into. Borderless still requires you to tab over it just doesn't take a large amount of time like fullscreen. The cursor is still locked onto the screen without alt tabbing because if it wasn't then you would move the mouse if you have a second monitor onto that monitor while playing. The armorsmithing was temporarily fixed there is a shield that allows you to craft at 25 mastery. Q and E will be in a future patch The bindstone has been investigated and is more complex of an issue then we thought to remove fails but it is still being looked into Not sure what you mean by this Trade routes will be getting reworked eventually i personally have written up a large document to take ideas from Archeage which did trade routes very well imo and have submitted that We are focusing more on new player stuff and other aspects and will get to content shorty. The windowed mode not filling the screen is a bug that has been in since DFO and is in the list of things to be fixed. Borderless answer above
performance took a hit, hitches after every weapon swap Staff changes means either cobras and fast staves stay the dominant or the elemental staves and lesser staves are used together which requires scripts. Scripts = bad Overall people are probably getting sick of having a suggestion section of the forums that gets completely ignored as douche locke makes secret changes and the patch notes include random shit no one even asked for or bad executions of suggestions. For example texture changes were needed but the game world and multiple armors look worse than before..... edit: just add and focus on content
Posts like these don't benefit anyone, please list your feedback so we can gather it and make changes on that.
Had a loooong day so I'm pretty tired but a few things would be the changes to how the game looks. You can literally achieve the same look using SweetFX. ReShade. GEMFX and similar programs. You can make it look better actually. The way it's been done is amazingly hit and miss with some things looking nice (cobra staff) and a lot of things being an eye sore because they are too sharp, too light and certain ground textures too full of tiny jitter/blotter. This gives me a headache. Another thing that is disheartening is the changes to staves. I understand that you can work on multiple things at the same time but I just don't see a need for changes like this right now. Changing how staves work and making people have to grind up a new crafting skill especially now that there's new players coming because of the Early Access period seems weird. I'd prefer seeing full focus on the new player experience perhaps something like updating the extremely short tutorial players get when they first login. I've already seen people ask for more help after reading that since they thought it didn't help much. The staff change feels like the new content it brings is very overshadowed by the amount of tedium that is now added to players at a high level that will want to min/max. Now we'll need scripts to change between staves based on spells more so than ever before. I like the changes that RoA and DND have done to reduce the need for macros and scripts. I've never had a problem with that stuff. I used really nice ray detection afk macro scripts to grind spells back in the day and had all the regular ray scripts and what not but adding things that require me to make new ones is very sad. There's more but I'm gonna stop here, sorry. I don't feel like writing more right now since it's coming out too badly written and not organized. I feel like a lot of these changes came out of nowhere and wasn't something I've noticed a lot of players have been asking for? The new UI is pretty cool but besides that these changes confuse me as to who wanted this in.
The hitches is in the backlog to be looked into and fixed asap. The staffs need more feedback and we will make changes based on that feedback Just because something is suggested does not mean it will be put into the game. We do read the threads and they are forwarded to the appropriate teams. This was the first run through of the textures and will be tweaked based on feedback, i believe a thread will be made for players to screenshot textures that look poor for our art team to tackle. --- Post updated --- As mentioned previously this was the first run through of the textures and we will be look at feedback and changing textures that look poor. We are focusing on the new player experience, MWTaylor has mentioned that we have a new player tutorial task type system in the works to help better explain the game and guide them to where they need to go and what to do. The staff feedback we will be monitoring and making changes to for the issues that arise.
1. Performance took a hit. 2. X for gui windows is on the left side which is unintuitive for people who have used windows their entire life. 3. Staff changes create a system where you need multiple staves to play the game competitively and destros only need 1 still because you created a system where lesser magic staves are a thing....this is yet another destroyer buff because of tediousness alone of having to manage multiple staffs as a mage vs destroyers still only need 1. Remove all the lesser/greater magic staves. 4. Black fade on the borders annoys me when in gui mode.
So you are telling me to go to my other monitor I have to press escape then hit the windows key? Why can it not work like the windowed one now? All I have to do is hit escape and mouse over to another monitor.
This is the first patch day where everyone logged in.... And 95% of us logged out and played other games immediately. I really think they need to start being more open with the direction and changes in upcoming patches. Stuff like some of these staff changes and texture changes should have been shot down long before patch day. Its disheartening to see such bad changes get pushed through. We do not have a lot of faith left that they will be addressed after some of the other bad changes like the r70 range that were not properly addressed.
visually its nicer.. I think its wise to debat wether or not people wanne force vegetation settings ingame.. it will or might improve gameplay regarding hiding in grass. Borderless mode works...for me @least Defaults settings on the other hand still give me shit fps.. you might wanne improve that ( 80 fps orso gtx960) X for closing windows is on the wrong side, not sure why its left) again the allignments system makes no sense: Darkfall is setup with politcal warefare in mind.. when clans can be made with different races the alligment system is broken If your mid or end game regarding leveling up your char.. your not gonna not killl others because of alligment, which makes racial cities pointless for mid/endgame players. the heads that are dropped from ganked players should be made as a pvp currency with you can turn in npc cities for gold/gear or whatever, people will then start coming over to starter zones again to turn in heads ( this system can be combined with a bounty system fairly easy) currently the staffs are now selected on speed and gold/mats to make them, the dmg output still dont make any sense
you are not understanding me and thats fine but there is almost 0 difference between borderless and full screen. The only difference is the game stays up instead of minimizing and you hit 1 les key to switch screen/programs. Before it took escape to get to gui mode then alt+tab to get out of the game. Now in borderless mode you hit escape for gui and then hit the windows key to get out of the game??????? Maybe im just stupid but this makes it useless other than it dousnt minimize like full screen will if you alt tab.
Omg... wtf is this community?? Fuck you guys and chiiiiilllllllllll Awesome job BPG im really impressed.
It's good someone is but we dont have much time left they keep changing things no one asked for. The game needs content not new staffs to make crafting even worse and pvp balance out of hand.
The borderless reduces the impact of the alt-tabbing. In full screen the game has to close down and takes 1-2 seconds. With borderless the alt-tabbing is quicker. The reason the cursor stays locked inside the game is because if it didn't when you are playing in action mode and moving left or right, if you have two monitors, the cursor will leave the screen and if you click the game will alt tab. League of Legends is very similar as an example, borderless still requires and alt tab to get out of the game.
On the mount binds patch please just make it so you have 1 set of bindings when mounted and 1 when on foot A lot of us use weapons on Q and E and don't use a "hold to Sprint" on foot because we need the extra bind and it's rarely turned off on foot but it's different on mount I'm also HIGHLY in favor of forced vegetation and some degree of shadows for all It will affect performance some but it would also improve gameplay in a lot of situations and at this point any computer made in the last 5 years should have zero trouble running it even in big fights
If people are going to have a big advantage by using scripts and multiple staves you literally undermined all the work on the gui.
