I guess I was over excited thinking I could play in windowed mode with my actual resolution size. I guess people with lower end machines will get more out of borderless but for me its not worth using anything but windowed.
I believe the plan is to make it so that the mount lean binds are not independent. So if you have Q and E bound to other slots they can still be used for mount leans. Not 100% sure on the final decision so don't quote me but i believe that is the current plan to work around the mount leaning issue.
Also there is a way to make darkfall force the resolution size to match your main screen in windowed mode im told its on the new dawn forums how to do it. Thats too much work it should be fixed correctly shit i can resize LOL's window if you want to compare things to other games
Borderless Windows works for me properly. I just alt tab as always. Also don't have to go into gui mode.
Thanks BPG for working so hard to get this patch out before Christmas! All I have to do in borderless window mode is hit windows key or alt tab. I don't have to hit escape to open up the GUI at all. Think it will affect mouse input? I'm pretty worried about #3 myself, it 100% does make mages use more than 1 staff to play competitively.
I get that I was just wanting it to work just like the windowed mode or make window mode resizeable and ill be fine thats minor imo
As mentioned above the windowed mode no scaling to the full resolution is a known issue from back in dfo days. It is in the list of things to fix.
I'm gonna try to be as constructive as possible. 1.Black borders limit field of view and brings back flashbacks of unholy wars. 2.The texture changes are honestly bad, you're wasting development time. It feels like you're trying to put gold paint on dog shit, but at the the end of the day it's still dog poop under the gold. (would much rather see simplified textures for a cleaner look) 3. The staff changes doesn't add any sort of content, just more tedium. Now to stay competitive people will be leaving with 3 staves in their bags. Zzz 4. Performance has seemed to take a hit. Getting a lot of load lag
How does it feel that none of us can craft staffs and we have to grind that up! My performance got better so idk what the issue is if people are having problems. I get no hitches and can now play on max graphics (which i think the graphics look way better now than before in general even on low) and have an additional 120 FPS.
1. This has been noted and has been forwarded to the UI designer to look into possibly making the top and bottom black border a bit smaller 2. The textures were done by the art team @DeadlyHit can probably comment more on the process but as stated before this is the first run through, some textures look good and others don't we will take your feedback and fix the ones that look poor. 3. This was a potential issue with the staff changes and we will be monitoring feedback and making changes 4. The bug is with weapon swapping reducing FPS and giving a small hitch, known issue that has been added to the back end list. Apologies for the inconvenience on the patch issues.
Thanks for the quick response I had actually edited it to include my thoughts on vegetation and shadows needing to be forced on at least to some degree for EVERYONE and why. Do you know BPGs thoughts on this? I really think the game looks and plays way better and at this point any computer built in 2011 or later should have ZERO trouble running it even in big fights I5 2500k+ and gtx 560ti+ and your fine I gauruntee it
Obviously our intent is not to reintroduce the need for scripts; these are just initial changes and an attempt to diversify choice in the department of staves. We've already talked extensively about auxiliary solutions to address such a situation where the norm becomes just that. We want to test it out though, and gather feedback on just how much of an impact this change makes.
You need to figure out a way to actually create diversity not force tedium and pretend it adds depth.
The game does run better for most now because of the computer difference between now and before you are correct. I think the game is still not fully optimized on the way it runs so even though we have better equipment it is not using its full potential. The vegetation and shadows has been discussed but i don't think there is a final stance on that yet, we do like to keep player options open especially for those that don't have the best computers and do want to maximize their fps.
Forcing a minimal shadow and vegetation would be awesome .. if and when the performance is up to snuff. It's not something we can do until then.
If you want to eliminate the need for scripting and add diversity to staves, then you need to enable hotbar weapon swaps between staves, so we don't have to script in the functionality that should already be there. Also, stop buffing destros please.
