Odd new nodes.
Add the updated free time to the front page of your riseofagon.com so people know it's now open until April 2 server down.
Everyone growling about the wallet but, I like it. couple simple tweaks and should be golden.
Keep at it BPG
Rare ore nodes. Sounds like a good idea! I wonder how it will work out. We"ll see ingame
Will lower value of ore but, give people ways to gear up faster. Faster gearing up = more pvp.
Think it will be a real good addition personally.
I also hope on more pvp encounters outside of villages.
Great patch BPG
Bet there's gonna be a buncha pvp just roaming the subcontinents
Are these rare ore nodes in a fixed position or do they despwan and respwan somewhere else? Just wondering
Also do they just give rare ore or is it like a clan mine which gives both, but hopefully more rares since the output of city nodes sucks dick.
They are random and dynamic. They just give rares and disappear when emptied.
They spawn using the dynamic drop system that chaos chests, papyrus, clams, etc use. We've been adding in extra functionality into this system a few times now to allow more customisation on specialised drops. One change was a water depth variable to allow underwater spawns at varying depths. It is being used only for shallow water spawns of various items currently but is a groundwork change in the future will be used for sunken objectives.
We've mapped out the areas of the world to 10 distinct areas for the dynamic nodes. This is an initial step in regionalisation, regular nodes no longer have rares and each area will have one rare it drops. Selentine will be available on the whole main continent, all other rares will be available on their respective islands.
--- Post updated ---
Keep in mind regular nodes don't drop rares and a limited amount of these new nodes will be available. We started off slow and low to ensure we don't flood the economy first. We'll be watching the global economy to see the change. Also PSA that rare ore golem spawns and clan mines we are planning to regionalise as well so you'll only have them on their respective islands.
Small FREQUENT patches. Now you're cooking with gas!
I'm glad you didn't wait 2 months to add this to the next big patch. Looks like a nice addition!
(how it looks like? anyone found that already?)
Found about 30 neithal in 40 minutes and got 8 from hitting player mines on my travels. Clannies reported getting 41 theyril in about 40 minutes. Shit tons of Papyrus, Cheese, Regs etc from all the other spawnables too. You can get between 6-8 and that applies to all types of nodes. The spawn rate seems quite fast.
Ideally you should be getting just a little less than farming golems in the same amount of time but of course luck is a factor. In order to maintain that balance I'd like to see either the quantity of the yields decreased (especially theyril) or the frequency of the spawns decreased so when you do find one it becomes a thrilling moment. As it stands this will create a huge influx of rares and devalue them considerably because this can be done naked with a mount. Perhaps the node yield should be tied into your equipment tier level.
In order to promote PvP and conflict over the nodes I suggest each night at prime hours a subcontinent gets an increased spawn rate or harvest rate to encourage roaming. Rotate the subcontinent each day.
remove chaos chest, its basically nonsensical atm and problably uses any server resources.
I haven’t tested it yet. But lower values on ore sounds nice as long as it isn’t ND levels. I still don’t wear much infernal since it’s hard for me to come by. Would like to change that.
remove city mines and keep other things dropping rares.
Haven't gotten in to try them out, but I would say keep them the same for a month or 2 and then adjust it if need. You finally have a reason for people to get out in the world and you shouldn't nerf it right away, if at all.
