I am ok with heavy armor being OP for awhile. Would be refreshing to have the game be archer/melee heavy for awhile after being mage dominated for so long. Do I think it should stay that way? No. I am just happy something changed to freshen the same old same old up a bit while we wait for the complete revamp. I hope that once combat paths are in things will eventually reach a satisfactory light vs heavy equilibrium after many balance rage post, salty water excretions and patches of various qualities. Also need them to finish out light armor so it doesn't just end at bone at some point. Its tough to balance light vs heavy when only heavy has mastery armor.
This dont mess with armor, it was just 25%. Once there is some higher end mage armor it will be ok. Heavy armor should be HEAVY keep it strong!
I think we may see a population dip during these hefty balance changes. Many, including myself, feel as though it's not worth playing while the combat is being changed heavily and might wait for a few months until it's stable.
All phases should have went through ptr and then the end result should be put on live, putting 25% of the changes in one at a time is very bad design
Your feedback during these times will help shape how things get changed. We have a goal to increase viable play styles, that doesn't mean you don't have an affect on how we get there.
I see you deleted my comments, including my feedback. Glad to see BPG has decided whos feedback is worth listening to (Dixie Normus and the rest of Absolutiom)
About unsubscribing? I didn't delete it, but I hear ya. It's your call if you want to help shape the game or not.
That's not my point though. I'm just saying people don't enjoy these transitional periods of uncertainty - it's not that fun. As Dotix said, all-in-one jesus patch after much PTS testing would be the way to go.
I tried to help shape the game, you guys deleted my comment, talk to your forum staff, they dont like criticism. Can you rename my last video thread from "its a respect thing" to "final video"?
I don't get this point of view. You are still developing and evolving your aim and decision making while combat changes are being tested, if anything it will help you in the long run because frequent changes forces you to learn to adapt on the fly, which is the very essence of winning in Darkfall.
Well if my comment wasn't deleted you'd have seen my response to rabble rabble bud. --- Post updated --- Theyre killing the game. no point practicing a dead game. besides, aim and all of that has a general cap for everybody, if you're a vet whos reached that cap you're not learning anything, just staying unrusted. as of right now a lot of people dont care about being rusty or not
This needs way more testing, after all that happened with both Darkfalls you guys need to take this last chance you have for a population way more serious than 1 week of testing ptr with 20 people and implementation of phase 1. The point of the ptr is to test all these changes one after another. I can see a majority of the current player base completely not playing at all because if you bring phases into live one at a time there is no reason to even play the game you might as well just play and test the ptr with people being geared equally for the most part(even for pver's now that 2 people can't haste each other and pve efficiently, for whatever reason you guys didn't think of this). This combat overhaul needs to be put on live all at once and if you don't understand why then I really can't say much more. Revert the phase 1 and dish out stuff on the ptr so people can fully test it over a long period of time... THERE IS NO RUSH
we need to many enchanting.....and for one we need 5 units of 3 type reagents and 1 catalist....decrease it to 2 units for type..... and please make enchanting easy like the other profesion....
I don't forsee it being melee archery. They literally buffed my whole group's play style. Making arrow even stronger. Rule #1 to changing combat in a game. Nerf the best player Rays were buffed transitions were buffed Player's who use archery and anything beside's rank 50's & rays will be punished severely. INC. high magic encum. 1.00 staff ray spam/melee META = 2 staff's for offensive damage, unburden, parry spam because of slower spell cast's, melee, fireball, rays
