HOLY FUCK BPG
Try it with ur ping spiking somewhere between 140-170 each 5 secs
I like this change but this is bullshit. You polled this change, it failed, and then you implemented the change anyway. Whats the point of you even polling the community if you will just make the changes anyway?
Rather than going back and thinking about the sources of screen shake and its purposes, and then trying to repoll with more specific questions, you just made the change. Lots of people in this thread are psyched right now, but if you had done this with the combat poll they would be livid. Since you aren't respecting your promises in regards to polls, will you please keep self buffs gone? It failed the combat poll but clearly that doesn't matter and I want them to stay gone.
It got 56% yes in the initial poll and we said we would probably implement the 3 changes in that poll that failed to get 60% but were all above 50%. This issue was highlighted quite a bit in the past week with all the siege videos coming out from the World War and basically being unwatchable because of the screen shake. It was a quick change that took me about 5 minutes from implementation to QA and that's why we decided to put it in today.
So next time you poll just make the threshold 50% and don't even pretend like you will have the temerity to stick by your self imposed rules. I'm not mad the change was made, but it is a bad look when you make promises and immediately declare you will break them because "reasons". You made the threshold 60%, you should stick to it. Or just make it a majority and stick to it. Whatever you do stand by your promise. To the extent that community polling of changes is a good at all I think a supermajority threshold makes a lot of sense, but that is your call not mine. Just don't pretend you will stick to the 60% rule when you won't.
This also happened as soon as the combat poll came out, where you said you would repoll anything less than 60% and do it with a 50% threshold. I guess I can see why you would be tempted to fold when you see a majority, but come the fuck on if it doesn't pass the threshold it doesn't pass. Real wishy washy standard here.
This is a great change.
It does not effect any skill ceiling. People who play the game for a year just got use to it and new players were turned off and irritated by it.
While watching Umbertos stream of the sieges it was SO nice to actually see footage that was not just a shaking blur.
Sadly with the people who were not included on the first poll I am positive that it would have easily received over 60%
I know over a DOZEN people who did not even know about the poll who ALL wanted screen shake nonsense removed.
Obviously the polls are there to gauge what people want.
Since the fix is like Neilk said, (5 minutes of work) it doesn't hurt the game development path.
I love it and everyone that im talking is saying its amazing.
Cant wait for the next siege and check how it will be.
I'm curious to see what this looks like. Good job BPG, at the very least its worth trying so I applaud you for that.
or you could upgrade your blackbolt bb
it feel really good in game atm.
Are you fighting people in FP? Try fighting someone geared up / enchanted lol

Sometimes democracy doesn't work.
Example: Screenshake poll.
Have not tested it, but lets see how big fights turn out with it
Let's wait for the siege tonight before we jump to conclusions. I've always wanted it reduced, never removed, but we'll see!
FUCK.. its fabulous already!!!
This is why BPG should never listen to the forum trolls, you guys are douchebags. But personally I hated the screen shake.
I fell sorry for the guys at BPG .
4 days in since I got back and I'm liking what I see. Keep it up
Part of the point of democracy (or community polling in this case) isn't that it always generates the best outcome, but that outcomes are better on average.
So when I'm gleefully running around in leather armor with boosters casting trueshot, and players are bombarding the forums demanding they revert and that they need to poll the community on combat changes, I'l be chanting "Sometimes democracy doesn't work" and you'll wish you held them to account.
Time will tell whether this change turns out for the best or not, but really appreciate getting smaller but frequent patches.
This is there game. They have final say on changes, not us. Our input should definitely be HIGHLY considered, but in the end it's their game.
That being said: I agree with you. BPG Needs to be careful with what they poll, and what they do with the polls otherwise, the entire process will be seen as a sham and waste of time. I don't think something like screen shake should have even been polled. It is such a minor thing that drastically effects large scale in a terrible way. Something minor like that could be removed and re-implemented if it's missed.
