- Come hither is ridiculous right now, needs some magnitude changes. - Bunnyhopping is stupidly easy now because of momentum always being maxed when you use it. I feel magnitude on begone needs to be reduced. - Field of view change is an enormous thing at least for me, I use to get motion sickness from being in first person too much. And I love being able to see more of the weapons I use in first person. +1 (earlier patch thoughts) There should be another option for health bar thickness, it's either too small or too large for my preference. Honestly, I think UI is fine enough as it is and a complete overhaul in functionality should be focused on instead of small changes with very strict limitations. We should be able to resize every UI element like the stats window is now, and be able to rotate certain ones such as the hotbar by 90° by pressing a button.
Blue tails are basically worthless for running away now. The only time you have even a chance at escape is if you have favorable terrain like uphill or heavily obstructed terrain. Otherwise you can easily catch blue tails in any direction now even as a destroyer. Slow mounts are just 'LOL'. While they weren't really useful before now they are even more pathetic. Chases that used to be over in 1-2 minutes (either target killed or escaped) literally now don't end until the edge of the world or the guy being chased dies. Group fights are wof spam come hither sling shot fest that aren't really that skillful or fun. You just 90 fall damage each other while throwing people so far they can't possible get back to their group. Sorry to be blunt but its extremely frustrating seeing bad changes and this in its current form is a bad change. It should have been extremely obvious what full magnitude in every direction would do to combat, but I guess in order to realize that you would need people on the team that actually play the game and to listen to them.
WoF already needs to be removed. Bunny hopping is already dumb as is. The direction shouldn't matter. Come Hither: "Caster aims at a target to magically draw it closer." I think making spells work as intended is a good change. It doesn't say anything in the description of Come Hither **Only works North or East. That said, begone is not being used as intended. I still use it occasionally to actually knock someone back but 99.9% of it's use is bunny hopping and repositioning. Something needs to be done but saying it was a bad move to make these spells work in every direction is a lil much. They've also already said they'll probably adjust the magnitude.
Are you dense or what? They said a thousand times that there will be changes to these spells, but that they want to do it in stages so they get it right. Seriously its in the patch notes that there will be more changes to these spells and they even answered yoy directly telling you that they will be changing these spells.
In a beta struggling to retain an active population, making changes that you KNOW will end up badly is probably not a good move. Especially changes that negatively impact one of the few good aspects of the game that IS keeping people playing, its combat.
I would love to see how these changes to begone and come hither effect pvp but I am so far from that stage of the game I cannot give you any feedback. I like the scroll changes so far it is interesting. Once the week is over I will give provide a detailed post for the free trial period during which I will test as much as I am able. One the previous patch I will say it is almost impossible to see the papyrus plant in any wooded area.
Such a stupid argument saying come hither and begone should only work in 2 directions... May as well make knockback only work if you hit em north or east. May as well make you only gain momentum jumping down a slope if they slope goes downwards north or east. While we're at it, make it so you can only launch if you aim a wall while you're facing north or east. None of that makes sense does it? Neither does come hither only pulling north or east and begone only pushing north or east. Stop it.
I didn't say anything about the directional aspect. I stated its magnitude is too strong. Before you only got the current magnitude in one direction, perfect north east. This limited the over powered magnitude pull to that one direction. Outside of that it ranged from 'still OP' to 'acceptable' to 'wtf why isn't this working'. Now you get that perfect OP north east magnitude in every direction. My whole argument has been that it needs less magnitude than the old perfect NE pull. I never once said it was bad to make it work in all directions. It was bad to give it the perfect NE magnitude in every direction.
They will have to break the game for a couple days from time to time or they will never get to change the things they want to change the right way, it's inevitable and it makes no sense to cry about it. Also, this doesn't even affect the free trial people (the only ones that shouldn't have a few bad days right now) so gives a flying fuck. I'm pretty sure that what you have been suggesting is more or less what is going to be tweaked into the game too, just have some patience man.
People who have not experienced real pvp or group fights using these spells need to stop the theory crafting bullshit and shut up. Being a fanboy for the sake of being a fanboy is not going to solve any problems. Shut up already if all you do is log in to game and melee down mobs and want to chime in on pvp.
I would rather see progress the way it is being done as opposed to none at all or even making 10 changes at once that break shit even more. They will get it right just give them time.
So I see surprisingly little about the Begone/Come Hither changes here. There should be a specific thread for this. I'd make it myself but I'm not really experiencing anything larger than solo and 2 man play right now. A thread I made on the subject in Alpha: https://forums.darkfallriseofagon.c...ther-must-stay-directionally-north-east.2811/
Can come hither get a feather effect? makes you immune to fall dmg for like 2~ seconds. That spell is cancer
The mindset that UW did absolutely nothing right is ignorant and counter productive. It did enough wrong to be a shit game, but there were good changes. As for come hither, it's effect should be greatly reduced when parrying and fall damage should be changed to require a larger height. Or perhaps let us use explosion as a 'break fall', so that we still take damage using it but it's obviously not the killer 90 impact damage.
Breakfall it was called. The spell was actually the "Launch" spell from DF1 but it was reworked to be cast underneath the player to stop momentum. It worked most of the time if you had bad ping you were shit outta luck lol.
