That’s kind of funny as the dye system is like literally stolen from then all the way down to being used on under farmed mobs. It’s like exact. It was shit in UW - learn from their mistakes - no more tedium! And reds should be able to defend themselves against offensive blue / neutral attackers. please go read UOs alignment, at least back in the day pre uor it was perfection. And right on queue Chad chimes in. Don’t over think it. UOs system was perfect!
The only piece we don't have 'yet' is flagging individual players against each other. Outside of that the 3 way flagging system takes the standard you mention above and adds a layer of consensual pvp with the neutral flag.
Everyones complaining about dyes (lul btw), but no one is taking time to mention consumable tab as a premium only device. A consumable tab is a convenience feature. Nothing more. You do not need it to play the game in the slightest. This is silly, especially since it is taken directly A la Path of exile's specialized tabs. Missing the big picture here... they should be sold the same way as extra bank space tabs (except with no or high limit, and at a higher cost). Down the road u can even look into more specialized tabs and not have to worry about whether it will be worth the dev time since if it can be bought, it will be bought and then bought some more, not subbed for. To you people complaining about dyes, not sure what you're on about as its been pretty much laid out how it will work for months. Enjoy picking up a half a bag and bank dumping a jumbled rainbow mess only to create a clown suit when you go to make your next bag. What did you guys expect lol... Everything else seems fine, the use key concerns me, but we'll see. Rune Glyphs are going to be added to the map right? Were still sitting on new armour materials and bone sets still cost like 100g to make.
Don't think for a second this didn't cross our minds I was sitting there for a short time one day and decided to put it together to see what it would be like considering the "mess" that is the inventory system. I have revisions planned for performance increases and just making it better. By releasing it as a premium only item it gives more reason to have premium while hopefully having more people using it and providing feedback than if it were just a cash shop item. Also it is build dynamic so creating new tabs for different item types and purposes can be done in a flash. So once the system is working as well and cleanly as we like we could very well add different types of tabs on the cash shop and having some specialty tabs for premium only if we felt like it. Regardless, since it's still early in development I would rather have it as a premium perk than get people to spend cash on something that may change or have different rules later.
Did you read what I said? Did you play UO? a Blue player was safe from all of the reds unless he attacked. A neutral player should not be free to attack whomever he wants (reds Obviously) without consequence, I mean like I said even UO had that figured out 20+ years ago. Give new players safety and let them develop on their own time and get comfortable with pvp but don't sugar coat it, don't make it so you have reds sitting outside of a zone risking everything just for pvp while some people are taking advantage of the system and staying neutral flagged and risking nothing. The dye system you are putting in is almost exactly like UW and some of your team are die hard fans of UW and have even stated as such in the past. Now I do not know the status of everyone on your team but this dye system is dfuw almost to the letter
No one really cared about dyes in UW because the system was shit and it was too much tedium to bother with. The only thing it really did was make everyone look like rainbow clowns every time they geared up with gear they got from PvP. No one had clan colors or uniforms because it was too big a pain in the ass to accumulate enough of any cool colors. UO did dyes right. Super easy, unlimited use and zero tedium for a large array of basic colors. Even colors that were rare or hard to get, once acquired had unlimited uses and could be easily shared. Don't turn all that dev time you used to make dyes into a waste of time by putting it behind a grind wall like they did in UW.
This is like duh..... why the fuck is it not done yet. It’s because they don’t play their game. Dont you love hovering over opponents in a war getting their tag before attacking???
