Read the notes for today's build going up on our Public Test Server which includes the new Runebooks, Village Capture mechanics, Map Enhancements, Spawn Scaling expansion and changes to Hit Protection: Public Test Server Patch Notes - October 15th, 2017
You guys barely fixed or changed anything that I reported/suggested two weeks ago, and it looks like there is probably still a memory leak. https://forums.darkfallriseofagon.com/threads/pts-suggestions-village-runebook-patch.14465/ Map is still really buggy, and Village loot is trash... do any of you even play the game? I would go through and make another forum post about what should be fixed or changes before you patch, but it looks like you probably wont listen to your playerbase anyway, so I won't bother. I had big hopes for this patch, but logging onto PTS and still seeing things that need to be changed days before you are going to push to live made me really sad.
I`ll have to agree with Squanto here, logged in test server and was really underwhelmed by everything, some villages without capture pads, loot is pretty much the same, etc. It clearly needs a few more weeks of work and balancing around imo.
You guys need to take another week, actually talk to your playerbase and figure out what to do. We are what, 40+ days into development on this patch? Your last patch was on September 7th. Do not push this patch until it is ready, and from being on the PTS for less than 30 minutes I can say its not ready. Lots of players are going to be underwhelmed and you are going to turn more players away. Do a Discord Q&A or a Stream Q&A within the next few days. Pick 10-15 active players from all different clans/mentalities/playstyles to help decide where to take the game and what to change/fix/work on next (You could get the ideas from these players for the community to vote on). You guys have honestly lost touch with the community, and its sad to see the game go downhill.
I will only push this patch when I feel it is ready. In the mean time keep providing feedback. If you don't like the village loot then provide examples of what you would like to see. We didn't remove any spawns, there are some build issues that will be resolved. --- Post updated --- I still have 10-12 ish villages to go locally. Should have the rest placed tonight or tomorrow morning.
Remove selentine keys, q1 mats. Prefer q3-q4 and sometimes q5 mats. Add more mahgony/limestone to tables. Gold is fine 6-7k is cool. Buff krakens There's a bug when ur in party your character arrow blinks on the minimap.
Re loot, just think what people actually get excited over: Maps, keys (not selentine, they are just an insult), rare ores, rune stones, portal shards, q3 or above enchanting mats (in groups of 5 or above), housing mats, onions (oddly enough) and gold. People will be risking between 20k and 50k worth of gear to participate and some may lose over and over, so they need to feel eventually they are going to break even, or they will stop participating and the content is wasted.
When squanto is right, he's really right. I'm an avg player and I sure as hell will be afking on pads naked, Risk to reward.. wildtribe goblins have more reward than PTS vcps..
I did 5-6 caps. Some of the random rewards I got were 1 runestone, 2 portal shards, and a theyril key. Regular rewards were 6k gold, 2 stacks of 5ish q3 mats, some regs, and some gems (which I'd rather not get tbh, they're just clutter). I think this wouldn't be bad if VCP cooldown is dropped, which it probably should be anyway.
With the exception of onions and housing mats everything you listed there should be in the loot tables for villages. They won't drop every time but they are all on with separate chances so you may have gotten some rotten luck. Keep in mind each user gets their own roll on items, the only thing split is the gold. Also when we add the control tower system, which is planned for our next major patch cycle, the villages will provide a new resource related to territory control. We'll be tweaking the loot as needed to ensure they are lucrative but not unbalanced. Also we'll be looking at the way the loot is structured to help with rng making it possibly too much of a swing of too high/low sometimes.
Just throwing ideas/questions, not much thought put into them: As for loot structure, how about buffing it by always guaranteeing one good drop (ie leenspar key/runestone/small treasure map/x portal shards/x rare ores) and giving it to a random member in the capturing party, while still giving everyone their own roll at common/uncommon/rare items? I've only seen the rewards for a couple of the villages, but 6k gold + 5 x 2 q3 enchanting mats is actually a nerf to a lot of villages if it doesn't go much higher than that, unless rare drops are actually very common. Is it still capped at 8 players? If so, how is it decided who gets loot and who doesn't in a party of > 8? As for timers, maybe there should be a village going live once an hour in every major region? (each racial area, each subcontinent, and sea villages can be on their own group(s)). Edit: Also consider that the 3 most used enchanting mats are probably cinder, horn, and bile. If they aren't already, having those be a guaranteed separate drop of say 10 Q3 in specific regions would be nice (examples: sea village -> bile, cairn -> horn, ruby -> cinder). Another alternative would be to base the enchanting mats on the surrounding mob spawns within a certain radius.
Really great! Just replace auto-gank with auto-revive when u die and the cooldown end! This will help new players a lot. Can allow this just to blue players or lawful areas... Just saying... []s
Please tell me that the new update thingy isn't going to be a screen I have to close while pvping like the other stupid pop ups in the past???>
The announcements? They are planned to be when you log in it shouldn't keep popping up. It will become a notification area for known issues, patch notes, events, news, etc. It's going in with basic functionality but will be expanded on over time. In game Polls is another important planned part of that system.
The only time it opens automatically is if there happens to be a new announcement when you log in, otherwise, it will stay closed.
