Nice. Stuff like this really enhances a game. Question though - what purpose do they serve besides for the scavenger hunt? Can we display them in our homes or strap em to our back for good luck? Many possibilities with a system like this.
Can the toys be displayed in houses? That would be a welcome addition. Currently, everyone's house looks entirely the same with varying carpets.
I really like this idea... gives a little extra incentive to farm varied mobs. My only complaint is that a few of the chosen mobs have multiple 'variants' that use the same 'skin', (e.g. the bear could potentially be a brown bear OR a polar bear) but other than that this looks like a really fun event!
So the people that normally buy coins ( becuse they work ) are the last ones to get a chance at some free coins events like this should be on the weekend. But good try give some coins to the basement dwellers
Can't make everyone happy, especially not in this playerbase. If they had started on Saturday, people would have been complaining that it DIDN'T start on Friday. I wouldn't be surprised with the rarity of items (and honestly the current scarcity of the playerbase) that several of these toys won't be found til Saturday or later.
@Neilk Probably would have been better to start this after 9PM EST tonight, but can't please everyone. Thanks for trying to give us something else to do. Btw, any chance we can get the drop rate for these? I used to play Ragnarok Online when I was like 12-14 and they had "card" drops from each type of mob that provided unique stats. The card drop rates were .01%. Seemed really low when I saw it, but ended up not being that bad overall. Turned out to be one of the main draws for the game.
I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking maybe...just MAYBE that there is a slim chance that the shark shadow is not a toy, but perhaps a Shark Mount. Please go into the scavenger hunt with an open mind.
To be fair not everybody works a 9 to 5 Monday through Friday today is my only day off this week --- Post updated --- I loled
For the initial implementation these will only be a collectible for bank/inventories. We do plan on one or more uses for them in the future but those plans are still too far away to go into detail. Display cases/shelves of some kind for houses are on the future wishlist. We may use these toys connected to a quest or npc for special rewards and there's various future rare ones planned and linking them to a card game idea we've had floating around. They will serve more purpose than just a collectible yes but no time line on when right now. -Andrew
@Neilk First toy? ps. Should update the initial post as toys are found. Replace the silhouette with the actual graphic.
Collectable cards through play for a deck building game (like Gwent) that can be used against other players and AI would be amazing. Though it may be a little ambitious and I'd suggest starting with poker and allowing cosmetic cards and such.
