I like the plans but i think RoA should focus on the server and most important the end game content and sieges special the siege system atm is really horrible, more sandbox needs to be added asap, they need to make a big patch that will change the game a lot and mean something i like this future plans but we need more then this. Either way when Bannerlord comes bye bye RoA.
When i say roa is changing the core feel of df I'm mostly talking about combat the one thing we all loved in df. But how is roa similar to uw? All races will be blue to each other New task system resembles prowess system but w medd points instead. This will force people to do tasks instead of open world kind of like how you could make a toon with out doing feats in uw but it wasn't smart at all. You had to do feats to level fast. Removal of city portal chambers and instead we have wilderness portal networks. Equalizing mounts making them bland Increasing boat speed which we all wanted but ended up failing making water combat non existent Making named mobs (doesn't bother me) Adding essences to the game that all it does is make crafting very tedious Only allowing 2 crafting masteries which removes sandbox feel Lowering node capacity and increasing gather speeds. I understand the thought process behind this but makes gathering tedious. Mostly issue with noDe capacity. Last I played city node capacity was also an issue Crafting in general has become more tedious like in uw Very useful spells are being significantly nerfed (lazy changes to spells/skills) Making the game melee heavy to drop skill ceiling. Plans to greatly reduce fast travel via runes Plans to reduce loot tables making mobs worthless via spending more on gear dura than the mobs loot drops Making holdings have bonuses for linking together if you own multiple holdings all close to each other For example Adding in a d.u.e.l system people buy monthly subs and sell in game All of these aren't bad and there are a lot more similarities to uw I didn't mention above. But my largest point is the roa team could have saved a shit ton of time if they got the dfuw license and just imported the df1 race models into dfuw. I'm not trying to crucify them just pointing out how they could have saved time w the newer engine that had much of this built in already.
1. Not limiting masteries to 2. 2. Only major spell change we did was to WoF, some more minor changes to other spells are coming in the next patch. 3. Not sure what this one is about, but we have no intention of dropping the skill ceiling. 4. Not what you mean about this one. 5. We are doing a loot overhaul, again not sure what you mean by reducing loot tables. 6. Not sure where you heard about this one, we would like to give benefits to players down the line for owning multiple holdings but don't know where you got 3 from. Just some feedback on your post because i feel like some of it is false or a misunderstanding.
That i don't have an answer for unfortunately. My guess would be that it would be in for launch but not before. Don't quote me on that though as i said i'm not 100% sure on the status of it.
We'll see young padawon and my list was longer than 5. What will be your toons name at launch or you gonna hide your ingame name?
lol my forum name is my in-game name has been since DF1. notice i am not the only one calling you an idiot.
It feels like you are really reaching to make your case Andrew. DFO and DFUW shared a large number of similarities, they were essentially different flavours of the same drink. RoA is a different flavour and it's going to be distanced more from the original two flavours as time goes on. We never reference or look to DFUW for inspiration. However many features in mmorpg's are similar so there will always be minor similarities between all mmorpg titles. It's the sum of all parts that make a game, not just a few of its features. The one similarity I can agree on currently is the single alignment. This won't be staying like this in RoA we will be adding to this system over time and tying in lore more to the way the game plays out. In short, many features in mmorpg's are present in dozens or hundreds of titles, yet each title is unique in how the game plays. In a year RoA is going to be vastly different than it is now. We're at the beginning, everyone needs to stop thinking this is the end .
Lol You guys kissing ass don't help the game. Sometimes I think you all just secretly try to tank the game. Honestly the one person still left on these forums that actually seems like they know what their talking about is Nat. Wish he was on the game design team. You all misunderstand me I want the game to succeed under bpg. I'm just blunt about how I see the game currently and the mentioned changes in the future.
LMAO this just proves my point of how big of an idiot you are if you think i am a kiss ass. you are just fucking dumb, have been in clans/alliances with you before so i am talking from personal experience.
