Only a few weeks after releasing alpha, BPG looks to be ready to solve one of the top four issues in DF1. Astounding work. ...bonus points for making AV look like a pack of complete idiots.
Thanks everyone, this design was after much thought. It had to be simple, flexible and expandable, and I think we hit on all 3. Special thanks to Nysko who has done the lion share of development on this so far.
With this new design will it be possible to have a list of spells in one slot and the one that is chosen depends on what weapon you have equipped? As in, if I have all my disables in one slot would it jump straight to disabling shot if I have a bow out?
I believe so yes, the button will pull out the spell that is available for the item. So if you stack multiple disables on 1 button it will pull out the disable usable on that weapon because its the only spell that can be pulled out for that. It shows this a bit in the video with the two whirlwhinds and the fire ray. It pulls out the appropriate whirlwind for that weapon and the spell for when he pulls out the staff and clicks the same button.
will there be an 'auto fire' option? also, as this will allow stacking, will you be removing some of the 10 available bars?
I can't wait for this... So awesome. Sick work guys. Why would they remove hotbars? Doesn't hurt any to have them. Even if you don't use Them for active combat spells.. Now I can put all my bolts I only use to farm golems or for pve on my bars. Woot.
Dest confirmed that in another post a while back. Not sure if I saw it in this iteration though? It'd be a nice option for sure.
good stuff.. It would be awesome if we could experiment with this: Dfo should not able to select spells while on cooldown? this will be have a huge impact on gameplay tho.. but i would love to experiment with this
