Darkfall is beloved by many. It needs to be fixed. Tweaking rule sets is not going to get the job done. To be successful the fundamentals of the game need to change. All the past and current iterations suffer from the exact same flaw. They are grief and gank arenas on a massive scale. Its been proven over and over that there are not enough players to support this play style, no matter how vocal the minority is. I believe the fix for the game is simple. 1. Make holding secure requiring siege engines to breach. 2. You kill a blue you take an alignment hit no matter where you are unless at war or at contested village or quest. 3. You trespass your red for an hour and take an aliment hit. 4. Being red means no meditation gain or use. 5. Quest and only quest give meditation many are at contested area and repeatable with no timers. 6. To win a siege keep must be held for one hour, no timers, just hold the keep. 7. NPC cities 100% safe. 8. Meditation used for character upkeep. No meditation points you suffer skill degeneration. 9. Add siege camps for attacker bind spots and siege engine construction.
