Would it be difficult to implement an FPS limit setting to RoA? I'm asking because RoA runs at 400+ FPS and its causing some GPU issues like coil whine to rear up. Frame limiting options are fairly standard these days, often a 'out of focus' limit also exists, but that'd be icing on a cake. The main request from me here is a standard FPS limit. As a temporarily solution I have enabled Vsync, but that isn't exactly ideal.
If it's still under warranty try to RMA the card. Some graphic card models are known to have serious coil whine issues, like the now aged GTX 960. What about using headphones while gaming?
Ok, fair enough. What is strange is that RoA is mainly CPU bound. I don't have a powerfull gfx card and even so the fans never revved up while I played the game. I know revving up may not be the cause to coil whine but it may be correlated. Maybe other players graphic cards are revving up more than usual? Hummm.
Really you want code written for this? "Coil whine is really nothing to be concerned about. It can be annoying, of course, but it isn’t like a rattling engine or a squeaking wheel—the noise is a byproduct of your PC and graphics card’s normal operation. Your system isn’t losing any performance or longevity because of coil whine." Stop whining...
