Ye no, 4x would make it like 1-3 days before your house goes live. Absolutely no buffer for people to go on vacation with.

Let me just log in and waste time. Hey everyone I'm on vacation as a example let me get my laptop out and log into a game for a couple minutes depending on where I left off. Let me go camping without electronics and loose my stuff due to this also. There are many examples.
In another game I played they had something called vacation mode that could be activated twice per calendar year. It gave your cities protection for up to ten days but if you logged in before that time elapsed it broke the vacation mode. Maybe something similar is a middle ground, that at least allows you to take a vacation once in a while abd firget the game. Not personaly something I really care about but reading the thread reminded me of the mechanic.
Currently it takes 14 days from you paid tax last to the house go live which should be enough. You can also invite a clan mate or a mate to your house as a guest and have them pay if you need more than 14 days
Despite the two week allowance I feel compelled to pay the tax asap every time, it is not so great imo.
I think this is something that could use some discussion, but how and when it relates to TCS could change things...
Disclaimer: I love to be a tenant. I will never own my own house in this game. TBH housing right now in this game seems to follow a logic where there is much more demand than offer. Which is not the case in RoA, let's be real, folks. Either or - just let it go... Let it go live...
Parks , as your neighbor I agree with your message. I went on vacation for 10 days and had to scrounge to find someone to pay my keeps taxes. (Really wasn’t a big deal, someone did it ) . Maybe even a choice to pay them before hand, or load up x amount of gold into a house fund that is stored on the house itself. But only like 1-2k . (Amount is debatable) . Being how much it takes to get these houses it really sucks to feel such anxiety over going on vacation and losing it (especially a keep ) .
I made a thread about this in the spring, I travel all summer for work and competitive shooting, ended up losing my houses after paying them within hours of going live several times. In that thread they said they would make changes to tax system. Like the many things they said before that would be done. Never happened. Don't hold your breath. I check the forums now every once in a great while, hoping that maybe something is being done with this game. It's not. Im also willing to bet that Embers of War money is also gone, and we won't see that either. It's DF 2010 all over again.
I lost all my houses due to this also, they lost my money. I will Never give them another dime. So fucking stupid you can’t go on vacation without losing your houses. Such a simple fix. Probably just too hard for them.
