Seriously, This forums dead, the game is on life support. How low are you going to let the usercount get before you decide to stop being stubborn and do some of the things the community wants? This isn't meant to be toxic but id like an actual explanation for a game I've dumped so much money into. We all know what got us to this point, so how you guys gonna get us out of it? What's the plan? How are you going to fix this.
embers of peace, 100k goal, comming soon goal is to add more fragments, and relics but itll be more fragments and relics but they somehow make the game complete cancer
Defo the lowest pop in all versions of Darkfall. Not sure at this point if the server is even worth saving!
The game has pretty much been dead for a long time now with little bumps in activity, but even then no where near enough people, win or lose its boring to fight the same people over and over again, the last time it had good population (at least what I would consider good) was a few months after launch. The only way I see this game ever sustaining a decent population long term would be to fix the economy ( some how make it so full loot felt meaningful), add long term progression other than 110-120 stat pots, make dungeons have bosses with good loot which you need to clear all other mobs b4 to kill (this is what care bear pvers expect from mmos), make holdings worth having for some end game pvp and then do a fresh relaunch with advertising + putting it on steam. But even after all that you would need to regular updates like other mmos that keeps adding new stuff you have to farm, like new end game gear and such not just fluff items.
As always this community is just great. Might as well tell potential new players "don't bother" oh wait... I approve of these threads getting deleted this is not constructive in this post.
I’m just trying to give a little clemency to the people that volunteer to keep this game going. I think they are doing a good job with what they have to work with. They are after just all a group of former players that put their own money into a project that has never been successful, 3 out of 4 of the interactions have failed. So try to keep things in perspective.
To be perfectly fair, 0/4 have succeeded. RoA is by no means even remotely a success. While its true they are volunteers that still doesn't excuse the abysmal track record of not just slow production time which is entirely 100% forgivable and expected, but extremely poor design choices, extremely poor interactions with the community and extremely poor management of limited resources. For all the worthwhile improvements they have added they have also ruined or diluted other parts with a net loss in active players. I am not saying everything they do is bad or wrong and quite a few team members really did bust thier asses and put a lot of man hours into this, but holy shit its like they were managed and directed by a blindfolded drunk guy at a bar throwing darts at a roadmap. So much of that effort was just wasted on bad choices and that is the most alienating and frustrating part that has chased the most people away. Again I feel really bad for the people that have put a lot of time and effort into developing this game and really do appreciate that effort, but that doesn't change the fact that so much of it was wasted on questionable and bad things.
Ive only been playing roa since rona started. Can i get an idea of what ideas that were implemented that was so bad?
