List of Destroyer Buffs

    I decided to make a list of all Destroyer changes since BPG purchased the licence for Darkfall for people who seem to spam the forums with complaints that Destroyers are underpowered. This is not a "please nerf" thread. Maybe it's time to stop buffing Destros in this way if the low and medium skill players are still not happy.

    1.) Removal of Fizzles from Encumbrance.

    2.) Aquatic Shot is no longer locked out by Mage Hunter.

    3.) Magic Shield can be combined with Mage Killer.

    4.) Jump Shot for archery is no longer locked out by Mage Killer.

    5.) Many weapon types have had their reach increased:
    • Greatsword: 2.5
    • Greataxe: 2.35 to 2.5
    • Greatclub: 2.35 to 2.5
    • Polearm: 2.5 to 2.6
    • Knives: 1.6 to 1.8
    • 1h Sword: 2 to 2.1
    • 1h Club: 1.9 to 2.1
    • 1h Axe: 1.9 to 2.1
    • Sithra: 2.1 to 2.2
    • Weapon Angle Rebalanced on several weapons

    6.) Melee weapons can now keen over 1.0 damage.

    7.) Reduced the iron ingot cost of:
    • Scale by 25%
    • Plate by 45%

    8.) Racial Traits benefit Destroyers the most:
    • Human Longevity - Buffs and debuffs duration increased by 33% (Longer Buff Others on Destros)
    • Mirdain Precision - Increased damage with bows (~2.5 damage)
    • Orkish Brutality - The increased damage now applies to all melee weapons (~2.5 damage)
    • Mahirim Reflexes - 1.5 natural protection to melee and archery
    • Alfar Resilience - 1.5 natural protection to magic

    9.) Mount Sprint Patch buffed Mounted Combat (Best suited for Destroyers)

    10.) Rage was buffed:
    • Rage and Dwarven Perseverance will now continue to work after switching weapons

    11.) Melee Damage Debuffs were triple nerfed:
    • Slashing/Piercing/Bludgeoning Weakness - Increased cooldown by 500%, increased stat costs by 400%, reduced magnitude by 50%

    So can I get all five of these at the same time now? I thought it used to be Mage Hunter vs Mage Killer and Magic Shield vs Aquatic Shot.

    No it isn't? Otherwise GMs give me my money back, I couldn't jump shoot arrows and bought this shit...

    You're right, the change was that it was once locked out by Mage Killer.

    This, pretty sure I had to purchase jump shot as well.

    With that said, destroyer is weaker than mage in 1v1s in low end gear, as well as harder to play in that scenario, but it's just as strong if not stronger as you go up in tiers of equipment. It's also very strong in group fights at any stage of the game. Arguably, the nerf to most foods as well as buffs to thunderstorm/blizzard will make it a lot harder to keep stamina up as more mages reach end game levels of magic.

    The disparity in cost for reasonably viable gear between destroyer and mage comes mostly from the fact an r40 blackbolt is cheap to make and has the potential to deal tons of damage. IMO staff damages and the spell damage formula needs to be reworked to be more like weapon damage, and a staff with the speed and damage that a blackbolt currently has should take rare ingot(s). If mastery foods are reworked slightly, that will also heavily reduce the need for enchants in low-mid tier destro gearbags (making a separate post on this later).

    1.) Affects destros more than mages, mages always run lower encumberance thus fizzles were a higher chance for destros!
    5.) Seeing as how destros are mainly melee these changes affect them more so than mages!

    7.) Plate/Scale sets are mainly used by Destros, remember: mages use bone sets!
    8.)
    Human Longevity - Mainly a mage buff, but it affects Destros greatly!
    Mirdain Precision - Mainly a destro buff (destros use their bows, remember: mages use magic!)
    Orkish Brutality - Mainly a destro buff (destros are mainly melee, remember: mages use magic!)
    Mahirim Reflexes - This ones actually pretty equal.
    Alfar Resilience - Pretty equal as well.

    9.) Remember! Mages use magic! You can't use magic on a mount! :D
    10.) Remember! Mages use magic! Destros use Arrows! Rage doesn't give arrow protection silly!

    People usually are complaining about cost of FP gear, it's not about game play, it's economic. I didn't see anyone ask for a destro buff.

    The problem with people complaining about FP Gear:

    - BPG wants a gear grind, Full Plate is suppose to be a rare gear set, hence Selentine Ore, being known as a "Rare" ore!
    - The reduction in plate armour cost address the cost of gear issue for destros :)
    - The fact that people are complaining about the cost of a full set of armour that mainly destroyers would use, and want it lessened, is actually an indirect buff to destroyer!
    - Lots of people are asking for destroyer buffs on this forum, go browse some threads!

    I don't see many complaints that Destroyers are under powered. I see a lot of complaints that for them to be basically equivalent, FP set vs Bone Set, the destroyer has to wager an incredibly more expensive gear bag. But apparently you can't figure out a way to argue about that, so instead you create a straw man and attack that instead.

    The last graph is a Mage FP bag vs a FP Destro bag. That is a fair comparison. The first two graphs are to show the disparity between bone/leather from a real destro gearbag.

    Um...those buffs also buffed mages? Which means the class didnt get any more powerful. You have to be real autistic to miss that or incredibly bias to the issue. Im guessing both for you.

    Also as far as Iron cost on items is concerned. Your fucking clueless. In the old darkfall you could mine 1 ore node for 45 fucking minutes. In ROA you get 17 fucking iron ore per node. SEVENTEEN.

    Full plate costs 20k gold. 20,000 MINIMUM for a gear bag. Im sure your autistic enough to say this is fine though. Please come here and try to say this is ok. I want you to show us all how unintelligent you are.

    Also stoneskin and arrow shield stack. I dont know where all this talk about bows being godlike come from when a mage can in fact stack 2 buffs and negate a lot of damage. In bone i can get 11 arrow. IN BONE.

    this list is so ridiculous its an obvious troll.
    i don't think extra magic protection would help mage against a destroyer, but maybe you want your bone armor to have the same magic protection FP have ? it would just make mage vs mage last longer. i'm all for it lets just bring magic protection of bone armor to same level FP have and add selentine requirement to it.
