As the title says, make a NPC casino where you can bet gold and items. Player vs NPC or even bigger slot games for more players to attend, im sure a lot of people would enjoy that.
An old Ultima Online shard I used to play had Texas Holdem poker. That was very popular and would be awesome to have in Darkfall.
I'd love this. Would be a great gold sink for people feeling lucky and provide some IN-GAME fun if done right.
Make it in NPC towns so we can hang together. Encourage folks to sit together in a discord channel in RoA discord.
It would be illegal in most EU countries. Counter Strike players in Netherlands and Belgium were be restricted from opening containers in early July. So they'd be some legal issues especially when game currency can be purchased with real currency.
In my first MMO, there was a casino in the main NPC city. You paid to "enter" the casino. Once inside you had to navigate through rooms with invisible walls, avoid huge piles of mobs that chased you around in melee, and even get attacked by other players. If you reached the end, you were allowed to open a chest that had a chance to have epic loot in it. Many piles of gold were wasted gambling.
It was great fun playing Texas Hold Em on various UO shards, something I would definitely like to see make its way into RoA. Plus it has the added benefit of getting more people out in the world farming and more people buying/selling GTTs. It would help redistribute some wealth in-game for sure, it would be great for the economy.
