Hi everyone, First and foremost, thank you to all those who came to the Naval Combat Event. It led to some spectacular footage. Videos for the event were uploaded by Orak, Miasma, Pimptight, and Bojangles (let me know if I missed anyone). Our next event, will be a massive Calvary Charge event. Two sides, all atop their mount. Charging at one another, in one epic clash. Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 9:00 pm EST - Please be early Objective: To capture footage of two opposing forces engaging in mounted combat. A good mix of Battlehorns and Regular mounts will be used (no Bluetails). Phase 1: This phase will be scripted. It's much shorter than previous events, in terms of scripted shots. The two sides will be on top of their mounts, facing their opponents across the field. This will mostly involve players simply remaining still until further direction is given. Phase 2: We jump into the action fairly quickly. This is unscripted. I will give a countdown, which will lead to the two forces charging towards one another, for a dramatic showdown. Each player must have 2 mounts minimum (3 preferred). Meaning, once your mount dies, I ask you to immediately spawn your next mount. Repeat this until you have no more mounts, then fight on foot. Incentive: Each clan will receive 20 building modules per member that shows up. This applies to those unclanned as well. You will need to screenshot your group at the event and submit it to me afterwards for proof. Warning: Players must be in full gear for the event, otherwise you will not be allowed to participate. Please do not drop a challenge Wednesday evening/night, resulting in a Thursday siege, as it will be cancelled. We also kindly ask no one to try and disrupt the event, otherwise it will result in a temp ban. Players/groups purposely targeting their event allies will be temp banned, as well as banned from future events. These Marketing Footage events are very important for the future exposure of the game, and we can't compromise that. Thank you for understanding. If your clan plans on attending, please have a clan leader send me a private forum message as soon as possible, and I will offer more details. This is very important for organization, so the please don't forget this step. For those of you who have the ability to record, I urge you to do so and publish your footage on the forums. This is because I plan on using player footage for Marketing purposes, as first person perspectives offer what a third person perspective does not. When uploading the event footage, please do not add any music, and leave the in-game sounds as the only audio. This would be very appreciated. A calvary charge is something many players have thought about occurring in Darkfall, but it's never really happened on a grand scale. Well that is about to change. By taking part in this truly unique experience, you will also be helping us acquire excellent footage, which will ultimately attract new players to the game. This is a win-win, don't miss out.
