Mob Migration - Changing Mob Spawns

    Okay so this idea Mob Migration idea comes down to moving mobs periodically. I'd recommend every 6 months or at least each year mobs should be "Migrated".

    By this I mean some mob spawns should move to another spawn location. New spawn locations should be made and some should be removed. The spawns that stay where they are should have the amount spawned increased/decreased and possibly the respawn timer should be modified to be faster/slower.

    This would also work better if certain mobs became more plentiful or made more scarce each migration period as well as moving some monsters to only certain regions of agon. Affecting supply & demand and truly making Darkfalls PVE & Trading more dynamic like our sieges and PvP.

    The best clans would want to conquer the areas with the best spawns each new migration. This would make people go out and explore agian.This would create more open world encounters with players who are farming, exploring or pvping and more sieges.

    This mob migration would also prevent vets from camping the best spawns early on and allow newer/casual players the chance to discover and farm high quality mobs in peace before the spawn becomes well known.

    I wouldn't mind if all the Fire Dragons just migrated out into center map for a few months. :smilecat:

    This is a great idea to make PvE an evolving and interesting ordeal however the sheer magnitude of work to keep doing this and monitoring balance is unfeasible currently. The tools and pipeline for these kinds of changes is still in its infancy unfortunately. It's doable but would take weeks to a month to change and a week solid of QA probably.

    Once we're in a launch stage with recurring income to have a heftier dev team we could revisit development heavy ideas like this.

    Roaming mobs is already something on our list to get in but a complete PvE scramble of mobs is a heavy time sink to do multiple times a year.

    That's understandable and thanks for the reply andrew :)

    I hope you guys can develop the tools for this kind of editing at some point.

    Though I would still highly suggest a complete readjustment of mob spawns before actual launch. Farming the same stuff in the same places that we were farming in 2009 is not great IMHO. Worse is the very obvious gap this creates between Veteran character development and new player character development just through our existing knowledge of spawns locations, spawn mechanics ect
