only a month or so behind though.. and its only Alpha phase. Yay for vanilla darkfall release on DnD but eventually the game will turn into hell on earth. Localized banking being one of a million things I see hating. Im dedicating myself to ROA but im still subbing DnD just to bind camp F nights once a day. For several hours at least I will have to log in there.
Ubergames responds to every thread and every idea on the forums, he doesn't take sides and is open to changes in the overall vision if it makes sense from a logical standpoint. Whenever there is dissent his overall message is that we are all members of the darkfall community and that makes us the 1%ers of the mmo world so we should stand together and not apart. There is a reason why most companies only have one representative on the forums and that's so the company can stand behind one vision without being clouded by multiple perspectives that might diminish or misconstrue the actual vision . Whenever ROA is brought up, Uber only wishes BPG the best of luck while the same can not be said when members of BPG have commented on New Dawn and Ubergames. In the two weekly developmental diaries released so far Ubergames has been very candid on their weekly progress, goals, and gives a small technical breakdown of the work accomplished that flies over 95% of players heads that don't have at least a hobbyist's knowledge of coding. While you can't fault ROA on the silence so far, come friday when we get their first developmental diary and BPG opens themselves up to developmental discussion it will be really telling how BPG responds to criticism and us forumfallers challenging their ideas.
Ye, the NDA really didnt allow BPG to say much of anything. DnD got out of that first, so they've been able to discuss progress. That said, BPG have made a choice not to promise things that may prove impossible to implement. While DnD are vocal about their end goals, which may prove difficult to realise. Not sure which is better, but at the very least ubergames is open for discussion. Which might be in stark contrast to what first impressions may give you.
not that i'd defend racism, or any ism for that matter, he has a point, the French have horrid work ethics. just take a look at their labor laws. working in France, is like being on vacation with a stipend.
My son when shit goes down pm me ur ingame name , gonna bindcamp the fuck out of him. Buying dnd acc solely for this purpose.
Responding to every thread doesn't make you a good developer, and restricting the communication abilities of staff to be "consistent" is very "un-darkfall" like. Developer diaries also don't mean jack shit as AV put out a fuck ton of those, and 90% of the stuff in them was made up. Ultimately I would say that you cannot tell how good a developer is without seeing their work, and neither group has anything to show yet. So since we cannot rate the two groups based on their product, all I can do is measure them based on the kind of Darkfall player they were, and I honestly know nothing about these New Dawn people.
The question was who seemed more professional, not who would be the better developer. I just listed characteristics that most successful companies employ and compared DND to ROA based on that criteria.
All official BPG/ROA communications are done through Andrew and Hugo. Any other staff members are posting their opinions.
Really Erock? Really? That was the most racist thing you've seen on these forums? Are you swooning right now and clutching your pearls? You are a veteran of darkfall, I refuse to believe that this gives you the vapors.
We value freedom of speech and discussion/debate which is why we encourage our guys to get involved on the forums and with the community. Diversity in a group brings about better products I've always found which is why I'm happy we have a diverse crew! We prefer to be more personable and so we've shed some of the "company" image for that sake. We will show our professionalism more through our products than our words on the forum. -Andrew
I always knew Uzik fostered hate. Hates sleeves. Hates short names. Apparently hates French. Saw this coming miles away. Kappa.
