    summing up:

    -2,000,000 to 0:
    - Age of the gods
    - Creation of Agon
    - Birth of races
    - Racial wars for thousands of years.

year 0 (maybe Rise of Agon today):
    - 10 Champions of near-godlike capabilities rise to power.
    - Racial wars come to an end, uniting the six racial regions under one alliance.

    +4 (Embers of War?):
    - Past tensions brew between the races and cause great conflict.
    - The war with the champions continues, but now the races are preparing to fight among themselves again.

Reading the introduction of Embers of war, it would seem that hatred between races is finally returning:
    Is this really so?

@MtH-HrT Racial hatred still exists among a decent amount of the people of Agon, they banded together out of necessity. The timeline hints at things to come although a complete return to racial wars is unlikely as we found it mostly involved hunting down new players.

You are surely referring to when new players were killed by other players of the same race while they were in banks or crafting stations inside their sterter cities or capitals. Unscrupulous players formed their guild (sometimes guilds of 1 character) with the sole intent of declaring war on another 100 micro guilds of new players of their own race, killing them systematically at all times without suffering any penalty.

This practice was allowed by the total lack of rules of the game, especially the lack of rules in the declaration of war between guilds, and has nothing to do with racial wars.

Darkfall has never had real racial wars. Perhaps only in the early months of 2009 when the game was new and when the players had a different approach to the game. Or maybe only in the ideas of the original developers who released this video in 2008 (I personally decided to try the game only after seeing it):

However, leaving aside past versions of Darkfall, RoA is currently a war game that doesn't have an identity.
One possible identity for this game is to create factions, and forcing membership in the race would mean the possible creation of 4 factions constantly at war with each other:
1- Humans-Dwarves-Mirdains faction, the old wow alliance.
2- The horde faction, orks and mahirims.
    3- Alfar faction.
4- The red faction formed by the traitors of their races, the ruthless killers, and in general by all players who like the current arac gameplay. Their starting area could be chaos cities, so those places would have a purpose.

The future development of the game should be built around this basic structure which is much more interesting than the current one which instead is more suitable to create small skirmishes between players rather than real big wars like those of the beginning of 2009.
Clearly this is only my opinion.

@MtH-HrT We do want to add factions to the game at some point and there is a reasonable chance they could be racially based. Right now though, we are heavily invested in completing various other features so factions are not being actively developed.I do agree that it can add a great deal of fun to the game and I think we will get there :)
