What the **** were you guys thinking?!??!?!?!? Out of all the content/PvP patches we needed, you guys continue to fiddle with pointless combat changes?! Why revert paper doll lock?! You cant even make the argument that its like "DF1" because paper doll lock was never this glitchy/buggy. Everytime I cast my spells stutter and get bugged, weapon switching is almost impossible, and there is almost no point to parry anymore. Either leave the combat how it was prior to this patch, or completely revert how the combat was in Df1 because BPG doesn't have the capability to add paper-doll lock back into the game without extra bugs 2 come along w/ it. The paper doll lock is way worse than DF1. Please revert this change before I (AND MANY OTHERS) quit the game again. BPG you guys have to learn your lane in this game. You guys don't tend to anything that the population actually wants. At this point, I feel like you guys are making these "changes" too just make it look like you guys are doing something, when in reality you can't actually change the things that need to be changed. WE NEED CONTENT NOT COMBAT CHANGES, COMBAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS GAME AND THE ONLY REASON WHY PEOPLE STILL PLAY!!!! REALIZE THIS AND GO DOWN THE RIGHT PATH, NOT THE USELESS ROAD THAT LEADS 2 NOWHERE.
In favor of increasing the TTK but maybe try increasing xfers and sacrifice not making input delays Edit: Would making sacrifice instant cast be gamebreaking Y/N
combat would be 10x better with a .5 swap wep delay only people crying are script kiddies and brainlets
combat would be 10x better with action-queuing(that works) forced on all so everyone has the same timings regardless of ping and a much smoother experience (without AHK) especially for new/casual players
Think you might be swapping too fast? That what i remember happening back in the day to me. Can't play like you used too at lightning speed
It's as if they noticed the uptick in activity and said to themselves "what can we do to absolutely destroy everyone's willingness to play this game?"
Weird... defiance has been the advocates of every terrible change in the recent past... i'm surprised you're not in favor of this one too.
Literally every competitive game on the market places limits on how quickly actions can be performed, taking them away was a big mistake when it was done. So, this change was good in my opinion. However, it does seem like there are some bugs that were introduced, that or your server just can't handle this many people trying it out these days. I don't really know. Hopefully it gets sorted out, but I would definitely keep the delays in.
Theres also always a visual animation like a gun reloading or being pulled out from over your shoulder. While the complaint for me is just the ghosting/bugginess i also understand if people feel like its clunky because there isnt a visual to go with the lock. Also, as it is, cadaver and i noticed it's not consistent like sometimes you can quick swap sometimes it locks up which is trash.
That's more or less what I was talking about with the issues which I am unsure of. I think they said they are going to patch something at server up which hopefully will help.
I agree that a higher weapon swap delay would improve it further, I personally use a ray script still but that's just because I think the in game ray has some issues (just doesnt shoot sometimes for me). Aside from calling people brainlets, I think people just need to keep playing with it and they'll learn to appreciate the old intricacies we had previously. I honestly don't think Down here realizes/remembers DFO had 0.5 delay, we're on 0.35. There was MORE delay between weapon swaps in DFO, and you praise that game up and down. Sword and board is still insanely good to use because it literally auto parries for you, we never had a fully functional script like that for anyone above 5 ping in DFO and yet here I am with 95 ping still being able to parry in between very fluidly.
I like the revert personally, If they can get rid of the ghost cast and all the other issues that came from this i'm fine with it.
