Everyone has their own opinions on the matter. What I'm addressing is bad mechanics that result in back hits which is the real problem with mount hits right now.
I think you touch on a very important economic issue that isnt really considered here and that is what makes an actual economy tick, for there needs first to be a 'surplus' in order to have any to sell and second there needs to be a reason to get rid of that surplus and none of this has anything to do with there even being a buyer. If these two conditions are not met a material will just not be sold. The rate of acquisition for a mat like Sel needs to be actually pretty high to collect enough to both use, have reserves and then some to sell. But again why sell it and not just keep it all in reserve since you will use it eventually? Its doesnt go bad and gold isnt as desirable as rare ores so the only reason to sell it would be in barter for something else of equal scarcity and use. What this is leading to is their are two economies in DF, one for everyday items using gold but also a second that is pretty goldless and more driven purely on barter for ores and rarer skinning mats. These items are just not going to be sold on the 'gold' market at a rate that can feed a player base, period. One solution is to up the supply rate so those that have supply do so at a rate there is little reason to keep high reserves and thus its better to sell it. Another solution is to add a end game gold sink that makes having lot of gold at the end game just as good as having lots of ore/ingots so there is no reason not to sell surplus. Another solution is some kind of storage decay so holding large reserves is detrimental but im not sure I like this one even though I mention it. Another way to go about it is to add barter features to vendors, though this might be complicated it will best mimic how trade is done now, but being able to be done by proxi through vendors. Another solution is to remove sel from the highest end gear so instead of forever needing it at the highest levels its more a phase that you go through. High end bows cannons etc etc make sel mandatory even when using infernal and r60s and this probably more than any other factor clogs up the sel market.
I thought it was content patches every month? I think a lot of people were expecting it to be rolling in middle of this month.
Gotcha. Just keep in mind fun gameplay almost always has indicators and counters to said indicators. Powerful attacks in any fighting game for example always have a quick tell that you can react to. Currently avoiding mount hits is a frustrating gameplay experience because the player on foot has no abiltity to read the mounted player's actions and react accordingly. In the same vein imagine how different of a game it would be if every spell cast had the same animation, so you couldn't tell if someone was casting a necro or a fire spell.
Yes as i said above we are still scheduled to be having a content patch for July at the end of the month or early August. This was more of a qol/bug fix patch that we had prepared before the main focus of our devs is on the roadmap.

I bound mousewheel to scrolling hotbars up / down. You can bind it if you just roll it like crazy when assigning the hotkey. It's weird
@Scrubby Bear, If you type: /bind Axis_Z_0 Gui_Hotbar_Col_Scroll Will bind mouse wheel to hotbar changes. /bind Axis_Z_0 a_Set_Camera_Speed you can bind it back to original. I personally did: /bind "LEFT_ALT+Axis_Z_0" a_Set_Camera_Speed set, and use scroll up and down to change hotbars occasionally (but rarely, as I'm setup for 0 hotbar changes) But yeah being about to bind mouse wheel up and down to inputs would be good.
you actually expect them to keep any promises at this point? LOL the "monthly content patch" is now "early august" which really means late august or september.
MAKE SPELL QUEING TOGGLE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE, i personally dont want it and know alot of clanies dont either
