Stop trolling me Obee! You're missing the point. There is a diminishing return above 144hz yes but to suggest there is a maximum refresh rate at which there is no perceptible difference is irrelevant because we haven't reached that point yet. Difference between 144 and 240 is proven fact but you won't see it on a youtube video on your 60hz or 144hz monitor for obvious reason. If your reaction times suck to begin with then it won't help you but if you're a serious competitive player then it's gonna help. The bottleneck is yourself or your wallet.

60Hz right now, but definitely going to go for 144Hz when budget allows for it (monitors cost over twice as much here as they do in the US because reasons).
Back in the CS 1.6 days we all played on 640x480 so our monitors could be set to 100-115Hz (pretty much any CRT monitor could reach that at low resolutions). The difference is massive. It wasn't uncommon to get bugged and have games launch at 60Hz instead of the 100 you'd set it to, and the difference was very easy to notice. It was so big that when LAN centers started switching from CRTs to low refresh LCDs some of us would borrow shitty LCDs a couple weeks prior to tournaments to get adjusted.

That's partially because its not JUST the higher refresh

240hz panels DONE RIGHT tend to have ancillary benefits like lower response times... they HAVE to otherwise you get black smear and blur when running them.above 144hz.

It's why those 200hz VA 35 inch panels look like ghosting/smearing dogshit when you try to run them at 200hz... the pixel response times especially on darker transitions are waaay slower than what you need for 200hz.

The other issue is the actual individual looking at the screen their age/ eyesight/ training all matter. Some people, especially older ones can't notice a difference at all past 144hz while certain people like fighter pilots can not just notice an image of a plane when flashed for 1/220th a second but tell you what TYPE of plane it was.

Reading this crowd you would have to conclude all those movies shot on film at 24fps must look like dogshit.
